Man gets shot. Shooter runs away. Brother of victim has a gun in his hand but held at his side not aimed at anyone or anything. He is watching his brother die. Woman in crowd screams about gun in panic. Cop spins around, sees brother holding gun and yells to drop it, but then shoots after like 2 seconds. Both brothers die within feet of each other

I get him having the gun drawn trying to protect his brother, but seriously...?

Why the HELL would you walk up to an already-volatile situation, with cops there, with bystanders, with a drawn gun? That's just stupid.
Oh yeah, I'm sure if you go to the mall and walk around with a gun out, someone's gonna calmly ask you what you've got it drawn for. Especially if they turn and see you're right by them immediately.

He didn't deserve to get shot, but that was absolutely brainless on his part :/

He could have easily shot his partner too, looked like the partner was grabbing the gun anyways to make sure it everyone was safe until the offer started shooting like crazy. Cops in America are scared of everything, they're not trained well and don't have the education sadly.

Cops can be as scared and panicky they want and can kill whoever they want in the name of "fearing for their lives", but regular citizens have to be completely on top of everything and be cool, calm, and collected 24/7 and must play Simon Says: The Lethal Addition and even if they somehow do that right they still can be murdered like Daniel Shaver.

They're just legalized gangs here to enforce the status quo and protect the rich anyway.

The brother probably had his gun out from earlier when he maybe tried to shoot the original attacker who ran off. After that he was likely in shock and just never put it away

the idea is that if youre gonna shoot once you better empty the clip so the target doesnt survive, and therefore, cant testify or say you were lying.

Why do cops always have to unload their entire clip when shooting people?

It's what they're taught to do. They do it to neutralize any supposed threat no matter if it's overkill and if others might get hurt or killed like when they murdered a UPS driver who was held hostage or when Colorado cops basically fired into a crowd and hit several people. They're also taught that anyone can be a threat so they become super paranoid and trigger happy.

hopefully someone sees this and replies. I've been meaning to ask this.

I'm wondering why non under cover cops in America are allowed to wear plain clothes. For example, a Police Captain who wears a suit, or a detective who sometimes wears casual clothing. Sure, he has his badge hanging like a necklace, or on his belt, but in situations like the one in this topic, it seems like the cop shot before properly assessing the situation. He saw a gun and a person not in a police uniform and shot.

Has there been incidents where cops shot another cop? I have heard of cops shooting under cover cops, but I mean cops who were not undercover but not in uniform.

Played Simon says until his pants fell down and his natural reaction was to pull it back up, thats when the call of duty playing cop got the chance to execute him.

The cop had 'you're fucked' engraved onto his gun. He also got away with light punishment because his dad had connection with the court or something.

The whole thing was messed up.

It's pretty messed up that we have gun rights in America, but a citizen can't fear for their life and shoot a cop in self-defense. Cops have somehow gotten held to a lower standard than regular citizens.

A right to carry guns, but the same people that say life is worthless without that right think it's okay that possessing a gun near a cop is a death sentence.
