Heartomaton 08/27/22 8:31:05 PM #7:	Ding Dong, Cut and Shoot, Uncertain, Oatmeal, Gun Barrel City, Jot-Em-Down, Buda, Bigfoot, Iraan, Tarzan, Notrees, Kermit, Dime Box, Bug Tussle, Cool, White Settlement, Quitaque, Blessing, Frognot, Muleshoe, Balmorhea, Elmo, and Ben Wheeler are all towns/cities in Texas, and they're not the only weird names here. We also have a town named Nameless. It's got an interesting, if sad, reason behind the name. Nameless was founded in 1880 by interracial families, including freed slaves and Irish immigrants. Back then, the custom for a newly established town was to send the name the townspeople chose to the post office to be officially recognized. The people submitted at least 187 names, but every single one was rejected, because officials refused to recognize a town of interracial couples due to their racism.
