I'm sorry to inform you that you wasted your money on a base model PS5.

Why do you ask?

Because the base model PlayStation 5 will be obsolete in a year or two. When the slim version comes out or the big boy pro model comes out, the base PS5 will be garbage. It's arguably garbage now but that's really not fair IMO. It's not garbage but it's certainly far from satisfactory.

There are very few exclusive games for the console and the majority of titles are multi-platform.

The only saving grace is if you've upgraded from a PS4 base model to a PS5 based model. In that case your purchase is completely justified.

A new model does not make the old model obsolete and it is really only a waste if you purchased the base model and then purchase the slim/pro. Even then, a waste of money on a purchase is pretty subjective subjective.

the only thing i've used my ps5 for this year was update the firmware on the controller

i think it made the battery life marginally better

I've gotten tons of enjoyment out of my PS5 without having to wait for a newer model... So I think I've easily gotten my money's worth...

I've probably saved a few days worth of hours on loading screens playing stuff on PS5 instead of PS4. Which is more value than a few hundred dollars.
