No. I basically never have any physical pain or issues from running. I am pretty lucky.

I'm going for sub 20. My PR now is about 22 which I set last year. It's not that fast, but I am 38.

I did that last year as part of my goal to run 1000 miles in 2021. I fell apart around Thanksgiving from knee and ankle issues. I managed to barely hit the 1000 in late December after like 3 weeks off.

This year I am just gonna do a little over 500

My watch says I have ran 376 in the past year, but I have run way more this summer than before, so I should probably end up with more than that by the end of 2022.

i feel like my running shoes don't support me any more, I got them in january and have done a few hundred miles since then, probably about 300. I want to keep using them for a few months longer before swapping to my new pair. what do you think? they say you should swap every 300-ish miles but that seems kind of wasteful to me

i say 6 months of running u earned new shoes

i always get mine at academy sports, they've had the best deals in the past but that might not be your experience

It is very wasteful and expensive if you don't take advantage of the sales happening every now and then. 250-300 miles is where I'd say the average person would start to bottom out on a pair. Experienced runners (light steps and rotating pairs) get to around 500 miles. A pair of shoes where the shock absorption and foam flatten out is likely gonna lead to injury.

the revolutions are my favorites (one of the cheapest) i don't really like the downshifters usually

they change em every year so im flexible-ish

I spend between 55-75 on them usually. academy always has sales. I usually start looking before my last pair is totally wrecked so im not forced to buy if they dont have my size or anything good.

on a side note i think it's bullshit that any job can require you to wear shoes that aren't running shoes. it's literally the dumbest shit on the planet that running shoes aren't the only shoes we wear for basically everything.

i had to get black/brown shoes for work and it's like im living in the victorian times. i have insoles in those shoes and they are nice (dockers) but it doesnt matter nothing compares to a brand new nike. the goddess herself would wear them.

ALSO they are made in vietnam (not in a sweatshop or with slave labor).

here are my shoes, and they are on sale

https://tinyurl.com/t89cu9ux

$45, usually $65. I think I paid $55 for mine in June.

it's not even expensive. wal-mart shoes are $30 and they wear out in, literally, a week. nikes last a year of regular wear, every single day, or 6 months of exercise.

I still have my previous 6-7 pairs. I still wear them, but only for fashion (matching, coordinating an outfit) or weightlifting. I can wear the second most recent pair for other exercises, pretty much anything besides running.

Over the past couple years I have ran with both New Balance and Adidas and never really had a bad experience.

However this year I really did a lot of research and ended up going with Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 (after waiting months for them to go on sale) and they are probably the best shoe I have ever used. Light but still provide a good amount of cushion.

I probably have the most miles on a pair of Adidas Ultraboosts. A lot of people will say they aren't great for running, but the cushioning on them is great. Even after500+ miles they are still comfortable to wear (though I don't run in them anymore).
