Idk, i always lived in the city (new york city) and I always viewed myself as someone who would prefer the suburbs. Like I don't go out much and I like my peace and quiet. but one year I went to visit family in the suburbs for a month long vacation and it was pretty damn boring after 8pm or so. It was a bit too quiet for my taste. Idk what to think about this subject anymore tbh

I like the border/boundary between suburb and city. Not like exurbs, but pittsburgh has a lot of really walkable neighborhoods with single family row homes, and that's something I like.

Small city not far from a big city.

I can order delivery and have a book store, movie theater, thrift store and comic shop in walking distance. If I need anything more the big city is 40-45 minutes away.

Suburbs don't have the amenities of the city and only some of the scenery of the boonies.

I have 2 kids in pretty good schools in Grosse Pointe so Im kinda stuck in the suburbs. But when they move out Im totally moving back to the country. My wife and I are actually talking about selling our house now while the market is insanely expensive and buying a wicked awesome RV.

we bought our house at $73k, its appraised at $235k right now. Its already sold.

I'd say the outskirts of a city. All the convenience of the city without the people.

Cities are good if your in a walkable area. Boonies are great cause you can do whatever the fuck you want. Suburbs are just ass all around. Not practical at all.

City

cant imagine wanting to live in a suburb.

I live walking distance (less than a mile) from dozens of restaurants, breweries, music venues, or other entertainment. There are festivals in my neighborhood all summer long. Theres a bus stop a half block away where I can take a 5 minute bus ride downtown.

the trade off is that I have a small yard and sometimes people at the apartment across the street are loud. Ill take it

City. I hate driving. My neighborhood now is super diverse with plenty of transit, good food, concert venues, cool bars, and shops

I like to live where it's heavily wooded back roads kinda deal bit not too far from the town proper. I don't wanna have to drive more than 15 minutes to go grocery shopping.

Give me the boonies.

I would kill myself before long if I had to live in a city. Even traveling into one to see a concert is enough for me to want to drive in front of the first bus I see.

People suck as it is, crowding them together into a tuna can void of nature is just torture.

Suburbs are ideal as kids or parents, city is better for bachelor. Rural can be ok if you have a car.

City definitely. The transit options here are decent and the city proper is walkable though there is a lot of room for improvement. The suburbs just suck ass all around and are devoid of character.

Cities (at least where I live) is walkable and had passable public transit. I wouldn't want to live in a place where I have to get in my car to do anything (like shopping, or even grabbing a bite to eat). My parents do, and I don't like it.

The boonies, even though you have to drive everywhere, has the benefit of there not being any traffic or noise, so that gets a close second for me.

The suburbs are the worst. It's crowded, loud, you have to drive everywhere, and traffic's terrible.

Suburbs aren't much better, but slightly.
