9 stomps for classic. 2 can fight 9 if you're talking about music, the fanmade stuff and robots but otherwise no, man. 9's got airtight level design, all the weapons are usable and a bunch have multiple uses beyond attacking enemies. Concrete makes platforms, Tornado boosts jumps, Hornet collects item drops, Jewel lets you do the screw grinding trick, Splash destroys certain blocks, Galaxy goes beyond regular attacking and clean one-shots lots of enemies including shielded Metools. In 2 it's like what, the Metal Blade is awesome but sometimes enemies resist it so you gotta go get the Quick Boomerang or the Air Shooter or something. 2's later Wily stages start falling off too. 9's don't let up. X is tougher to say. I honestly kind of wish they could take the good parts of X4, X5 and X6 and just tape them all together because I can't go back to the ones where you can't play as Zero. Nova Strikes and flying/spike-proof armor was a lot of fun too. --- Still waiting on that third threat ... Copied to Clipboard!
