I have no problem with her surviving at the Jedi temple. Anakin was likely conflicted about having to kill younglings, so it's not out of the question that he ignored one or two who were playing dead.

Am I mistaken or dont they show anakin stabbing her at the temple during the last flashback before he stabs her on Jabim.

I rewatched and theres literally a scene before he stabs Reva on Jabim of Anakin stabbing young Reva and you even see the lightsaber illuminate her face when he thrusts.

I thought it was Vader/anakin memory of that moment and he really did stab her.

While it's neat to see a flashback with Obi-wan and Anakin, I did think it was funny for Kenobi to refer to a dude who is clearly like 40 years old as a padawan.

they really could have used episode 3 or clone wars anakin instead. But at that point isnt Obi Wan a master and Anakin is a knight right? Wouldnt fit the whole teacher and student theme - but then again youre never too old to be a student.

It was cool to see Vader fight like that, but also I think they made him way too powerful

Also it was stupid of Obi-Wan to leave the communicator with Haja. That secret would be something he wouldn't risk losing or letting anyone else learn about.

Reva's turn or reveal kinda fell flat.

I mean, Vader is meant to be one of the most powerful force users of all time. The only reason Luke ever stood a chance against him in the first place is because Vader wanted to turn him to the dark side rather than kill him.

Episode 4 was a mess, but I thought this was the best episode of series so far.

Seeing Anakin and Obi-Wan duel back when Anakin was a padawan was great to see and of course Vader just effortlessly wrecking shit was fantastic. If nothing else, the Disney Era has definitely given us a lot of great Vader moments showing us what he's fully capable of.

This episode even did a decent job of selling me on Reva as a character and I think she could be an interesting wildcard to use going forward. It is still pretty contrived that Vader let her live, but I'm guessing either he and the G.I. still have plans for her, or they figure letting her live broken and defeated is a worse punishment for her treachery.

Very excited for Episode 6 nonetheless.

I tell myself watching Vader in this series that The Emperor's presence is always on his mind.

Vader comics and this series reveals Anakin is always being pulled back.

Spoilers for the 1st 10 issues of Vader and Rebels, (dark side rant)...
emperor is always testing him to keep him busy and re-iterating their work in the galaxy. The vader comics happens between movies IV and V. It shows while vader was doing his thing that the emperor had a handful of other darkside users ready to prove themselves to take Vaders place.

Rebels introduced us to the Inquisitorious. The emperor and vader converted the grand inquisitor together. Vader and the grand inquisitor saw to the other inquisitors. Vader probably knew these inquisitors would try and take his place. So Vader being Vader with them was not an issue with him. Reva finding out about the boy on tatooine though... i wonder where that leads to.
Cant wait for the finale.

anyways, Vader knew what the emperor was doing and grew tired of it before ep.V

Vader did have an army to try to take the empire but the emperor brushed the feeble attempt and parted Vader with a lesson. The emperor pressed Vader not to be weak. The emperor needed Vader strong and fierce because he was going to replace Vader and make that successor even more powerful. Emperor followed the rule of 2 but as the sequel triology showed, that sith rule became his undoing as he stifled the progrssion of the darklords by intrepreting himself as the accumilation of all the sith lords. Its just Palpatine lived under the rule of 2 so long in his own. Even in death, he couldve brought a new darklord in but he was so busy amassing the first order, force projection torturing ben with nightmares, and keeping himself sustained. Darksiders do believe in power and Maul and Trilla wanted to be avenged, a common theme to trained, disciplined darkforce users. Palpatine was the only one to leave his vengence to himself, by proxy for kylo ren and eventually serving under Palpatine. I just dunno if kylo ren wouldve taken the #2 seat though. Working in the shadows in the unknown regions. All that time to plot, rebuild, live again...

Likeit wasnt far fetched to believe Palapatine survived the deathstar. Maul was cut in half and survived a similar fall empowered by the darkside taught to him. he became the embodiment of hatred and went crazy for awhile though. Took his brother and that nightmother to bring Maul back. Anakin survived his mustafar grave injuries through the darkside and sheer hate with the help of palpatine. Kenobi showed us the grand inquisitor surviving his wounds empowered by the darkside taught to him by palpatine and vader. Hear me out. Vader helped the grand inquisitor live. Vader has all the resources and need to know authority to keep the grand inquisitor alive.

I just...
Cant believe if "she" survives, that its more than darkside knowledge and sheer willpower. Perhaps its not sheer will that helps sustain her vitals to live to find out what she did. What purpose does it serve? Maybe its just the will of the force...

Some of the Vader comics are between episodes V and VI.

At this point, just admit it, we're watching it only for the prequel throwbacks, all the current-time shit thats happening is largely irrelevant and mostly extremely bad, eg yeah sure, send a 10 year old with no electronics experience into a power unit with no supervision for a fix in an emergency life-and-death situation. Who tf came up with that ridiculous crap?

All the large battles suck, people shooting at eachother with no cover from 2 meters and hardly anyone is hit, extremely anthropomorphized droids (i know its a thing with SW but Lucas somehow made it work and its clear theres a lack of vision and understanding thats all the difference here).

The only really satisfying scenes were the Anakin/Obi-Wan training session throwbacks and then again they couldve done a better job at de-aging the actors, its like theyre not even trying or dont want to spend the money just handwaving it to "nah, its good enough".

And the moment we had a breath of air thinking shes finally dead, surprise, shes not, ffs.

how on Jabiim does Kenobi trust Leia? how do you trust a 10 year old with anything of importance? the writers are so out of touch and idk if its their sentiment that people are actually so sheltered and unintelligent to not see the obvious bs or theyre just making fun of the audience at this point.

False, Ewoks are the opposite of carebears. They are hunters who loaded up all of those massive traps on Endor with nothing but brute strength. They're basically tiny, furry little Hulks who eat flesh.

I remember reading the Essential Guide to Warfare and there's a little blurb in how the Ewoks are actually pretty damn fierce. Comes with knowing the forest and being the apex hunter/gatherer species.

Top-notch Vader stuff this episode. Pretty solid all around.

This episode was awesome as fuck. Gave me the same vibes Fallen Order did. Everyone looks like a badass until Vader goes full out. Just straight up toying with everyone. It's good to finally see what made Vader so scary in the original movies instead of most of it being reputation alone.

The end scene in Rogue One where he just goes beast mode. Ending of Fallen Order where you learn and develop Kal ad a Jedi, and end up feeling really strong, only for Vader to show up and just demolish everything effortlessly. Reva being hyped up as a big bad, taking out the GI, and then Vader comes in and starts the fight without even a god damn lightsaber. Just toying with her throughout. AFTER pulling a cruiser down with little force (hehe) and ripping it apart casually.

Having said all that....Obi Won kind of comes off as a piece of shit? Using her past to turn her into a powder keg to.....stall Vader? We just gonna gloss over that? He knew there was no way in hell she could win. He used her and left her to die. That's a dick move.

I'm definitely watching this show for all the throwbacks to the dumbest movies,in the franchise.

Obi Wan is also aware of her role in the hunting, capture and eventual deaths of countless amounts of force-sensitive people and their families. She chose her path and Obi Wan was simply pushing her farther along where she was already going

• Obi vs Vader rematch
• Returning Leia home
• What's going to happen with Luke on Tatooine
• Qui-Gon?
• Grogu scene? Maybe there will be another REVA-lation, Reva rescued Baby Yoda.

I kind of feel like Vader and the GI know Reva's thirst for revenge is gonna lead them to something good eventually. Like back to Kenobi maybe or Cal/other Jedi.

Otherwise, it seems really out of character for the guy who casually chokes everybody around him.

I think that was later retconned so he only subtly manipulated the decent of a already crashing destroyer. Still a insanely top tier feat, but an little more in believable to be honest.

Did they explain how or why the ship was crashing?

For the Vader/Obi-Wan rematch they better have a scene where Obi-Wan breaks Vader's helmet and you can see Hayden's scarred face, TFU-style.

I think everyone can agree that if nothing else, Hayden excelled when it came to Anakin's physical presence and facial expressions.

I know Stormtrooper aim and all but Jesus there was like 100 of them shooting a wall of blaster fire into that tiny cave area and did anyone at all get hit? Like it's ok for a couple no-name good guys to go down in the chaos.

The rest of the episode more than made up for it though.

At this point, there's no justifiable reason for why Reva is still alive. This is ridiculous.

It is kinda funny that it looks like they didn't bother to de-age him, lol.

But yeah this episode was great. Vader pulling down that ship and tearing it apart was jaw-dropping. I imagine there's a reason we don't know of why Vader and GI left Reva for dead, I mean aside from keeping her alive for her own solo series.

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking. It would have been pretty in character tbh.

The more I rewatch the scene, the more I love Vader vs. Reva. It's got a few clumsy moments, but overall it's just one cool thing after another.

The way it ends, with Vader standing over her, interlaced with flashback scenes from Order 66...that was a powerful moment. It was an impactful way to show us that Reva is still just a scared child on the inside. Afraid of Darth Vader... and just as helpless now as she was then.
