You can't solve those problems you mentioned with only 4.5 billion. Youd need upwards of 5 billion. Might as well just spend it on a sports team instead of half assing it

You aren't filthy rich and spending billions on vanity while millions, if not billions of people suffer, oftentimes beyond their control.

Would you be cool with dying so that people with more money than entire cities/countries can buy a 3rd superyacht without feeling shame?

Well akshuuuallllyyy, the plan to solve world hunger only costs like 1 billion a year so it would at least solve that for a few years, perhaps enough time to change people's hearts and minds and usher in a new era of human fellowship.

but yes it will require something like 50 trillion to fix global warming over 10 years if we started right now

violence in the streets is inevitable if we do not appropriately address climate change

might as well do something about the problem if the violence is inevitable

How the fuck are you going to solve world hunger with 5 billion dollars? There are still countries led by dictators who cause their people to be poor and hungry. Any money or items given to the people of those countries is taken by the ones running it. You might be able to start solving country-wide hunger with 5 billion dollars, assuming the corrupt part of your country doesn't try to spend it all on ridiculous things. But even then, America has over 20 trillion dollars in national debt. 5 billion dollars is but a small droplet in that lake.

Even assuming you run a business. You have to have a building, buy equipment for said building, staff that building, and on top of that pay taxes to own both that building and run your business. Everything costs money. 5 Billion is a lot of money. But I have my doubts it would last more than 5 years on a federal level.

What's this plan? I remember Musk talking shit to UN and something that was like $4-6B was proposed as the solution to hunger for 1 year. The problem isn't producing the food, its getting it to the end people and not losing it all to corruption and pilfering.

If invested, $50B could probably solve world hunger. So the price of Twitter could solve world hunger.

This will never happen so there's no reason to even entertain this idea. We're living in a perpetually suffering society. Most people will live their entire lives in extreme poverty and full of suffering and misery and a tiny amount will live luxuriously with unlimited wealth and a life full of debauchery.

This is how it's been for 1000s of years and unlikely to ever change.

These types of reactions are so prevalent when billionaires spend their money on anything that is not directly aiding other people.

None of us have any right to that money, or to dictate how it is spent.

It would be excellent if billionaires pooled their money and made the world better. That would be awesome. But you cant force them to do it, any more than I can force you to spend time assisting people in other ways like volunteering at homeless shelters or youth outreach or things like that.

Pure money of such a relatively small scale would do nothing to greatly further either of those, especially when money itself cannot solve them. That's not to say you cannot criticize things related to billionaires, but billionaires hoarding money is not some act of gatekeeping a better world.

Not gonna lie. I want to see the common folk overthrow the billions by force in my lifetime. No one does enough work to justify having that much money while others starve. People set up the world to not have proper balance bevause they were the ones that would benefit from it most. And it's wild that so many people have been convinced that that level of greed is ok. And don't even get me started when it's religious people who somehow forgot it's literally one of the major sins they're suppose to he avoiding. If they're religion is correct, they're all going to hell lol. What kind of strategy is that XD. Like God would just be like "You let a bunch of people die while you zoomed around in cool cars and lived way above your means....but you did look freakin awesome iwhile doing it. Come on in you fuckin pimp. Hell yeah."

Im not religious, but it's funny how many people are setting the standards for themselves and then immediately doing what would send them to hell >_<.

I definitely feel you should be paid based on how much work you put in. But ya'll some idiots if you think we have balance right now. That's not how the world works. You're eating their shit off a plate that they would steal and resell to you if they could. They don't care about you and it's wild how they got you to suck their dicks while they make every aspect of your life require you to work harder than them for less reward

When you or I come on hard times, at least we'll sleep soundly in the homeless shelter knowing that billionaires can freely spend their hard-earned money. They clearly earned it by working tens of thousands of times harder than any of their employees.
