Yeah I think people are judging this based on everyday experiences, rather than a, you wake up naked in the wilderness, scenario. Who knew?!

What is this "low humidity" you speak of? Is it something that really exists?

I never did get the just put more clothes on argument. Even if you put on your entire wardrobe it's still miserable being in the cold weather.

Its miserable being in the heat. Extra layers will at least help with the cold. If youve taken off everything and are still roasting though theres no comfort to be found unless you can find a cold body of water or are inside with air conditioning on

I answered the question WITH a climate-controlled room.

I like it when inside is a reprieve from heat more than the cold.

You do not die from falling asleep in 25 F weather unless you are utterly unprepared for it (ie dumped naked in the woods).

Also, hundreds of people do indeed die every year from exposure to 95 F weather..

tbh I'd take 0F over 95F. I am shocked 95F has that many votes because that's pretty warm regardless of humidity. And people don't like me walking around outside in nothing but athletic shorts. I usually just stay inside if the temp is that high, and I'd rather not do that.

45F year round? Fuck yeah, I'd take that.

What? This is wrong. People are far more likely to die from cold than heat. If it's below freezing and you aren't wearing enough or the right clothing you are completely fucked, especially if there is rain or snow. If you walk outside during a snowstorm without the proper clothing, you will very quickly die. You don't have to be "naked" or even close.

At 95 is very hard to die in if you have water and shade. That's all you need to not die.

There's a reason why since ancient history, most people on the planet have lived in places where it rarely gets that cold.

You're saying 25 degrees is dangerous if you don't take proper precautions while simultaneously saying 95 degrees isn't dangerous if you DO take proper precautions. If you're going to give 95 degrees the ability to use shade and lots of water you need to give 25 degrees proper clothing and shelter from the elements as well.

The fact of the matter is that even if you take proper precautions, 95 degrees is deadly. Heat stroke is generally considered to start being a large concern above 85 degrees. Is it possible to die in both 25 and 95? Yes. But if you are taking proper precautions it is FAR more likely for you to die in 95 than 25.

The precautions aren't equivalent. Having shade and water (both plentiful in nature) is not the same as having waterproof boots, winter coat, etc.

And come on, nobody is having heat stroke at 85 and low humidity just from being outside. That's impossible unless you're ill or overexerting yourself.

95 just because of potential ice on the road at 25. In most other ways I don't really care either way but the potential for ice while driving always stresses me out.

It feels crazy to me that people are talking about 25 degrees as though it were ridiculously cold. I remember back in school they'd do all the roll calls and everything outside, with a rule that they'd only allow students inside early if the temperature dropped below negative 20; one morning it was exactly 20 below and the principal relished telling everyone not to complain and vowing the entire school would stay out there longer for each person that complained.

It's kinda ridiculous to go from "20 below zero is weather you force children into as punishment" to "weather 45 degrees warmer than that is fatal". So ridiculous I had to check historical weather charts and confirm the weather was actually -20 back then & my memory was actually functioning.

...In retrospect this may just be another example of how messed up my town is.

-20 actually is dangerously cold, your town is seriously messed up, and that principal was a fucking psychopath.

I feel like 15 or even 5 degrees would've been a more fair comparison. 95 is pretty dang hot, while 25 is just on that borderline of really cold and frigid cold. Though I'm from the North so I assume it's all relative. 25 degrees easily.
