In fact they know it's the opposite but are just lying through their teeth about it. When it's their lives on the line, they do the responsible thing and ban guns from the premises.

You're talking about a major political figure (Ex Presidents count), I wouldn't take any chances. This is best left to the Secret Service, not private citizens.

I could have sworn the solution to public safety was an oversaturation of guns. Isn't that why Republicans support schools not only having armed police officers on campus but arming the teachers as well? Isn't that why they operate under the theory that a good guy with a gun will always pop up and miraculously save the day? Now all of a sudden thy want to restrict the presence of guns to a select few.
