Yup. Also my step father says rednecks are universal. He's from the north but he means even like in Africa. He's talking about blue collar type people that do the kinda dumb shit rednecks would do that get the job done but is dangerous as fuck.

That's what I hate about politics. We should be able to vote on individual issues instead of voting for people to decide for us. Like I'm pro guns but pro LGBT rights. So you see the issue I face

Doesn't mean they don't believe it.

Also it's more than just the guns. It's gun accessories. And some places do ban certain guns like I was eyeballing a gun I could in no way have afforded back then and it had a sign next to it saying it was illegal in California. Idk if it was cause it's it's 45 or because it was originally designed to be a side arm for military thus making it a "military weapon" either way its stupid.

I can't think of any handguns off the top of my head that should be banned. I mean if you pull a gun on someone even if you'd rather they not die you have to accept that very real possibility. This isn't Hollywood where we can easily shoot legs and arms.

It's really not a echo chamber. Hell my states governor is a Democrat.

One thing I love about my job is we are divided on politics but we aren't at each other's throats about it. When you realize that guy sitting next to you might be the one to have to drag your ass out of a life or death situation suddenly politics ain't as big of a divisive issue.

Some will argue politics but it seems more friendly chop busting than actually getting heated.

I've lived in NC my entire life and love it here. The food is amazing (shrimp and grits, fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, etc etc) but the weather kind of sucks in the summer. But our winter is usually mild, maybe one or two snows a year. The town I grew up in, and still live in, has grown so much since I was a kid. I kind of hate that, but what can I do?

People are generally nicer here from what I've noticed. I've traveled quite a bit, and people in big cities always seem to be in a big hurry about everything. And rude. It's not uncommon here to see tractors on a road, and that obviously slows down traffic. But nobody ever gets pissed about it. Most people at the store will talk to you, and aren't ever rude.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. We're not all bigots and bumpkins.

That's my experience of NC as well. I grew up in a rural area near the Raleigh Durham area. But I've also lived further south in the state.

Some places are as liberal as they get too. Raleigh I constantly saw pride flags I frequented a couple of gay clubs there myself but a lot of straight people did too just for the music they played. and then chapel hill just screamed liberal when I visited it. If you wanna be a rebel flag flying redneck or a equality loving person NC has a place for you.

Honestly, the women in the south are such a joy. Take a northern girl and a southern girl of equal status and attractiveness, the southern girl will be waaaay less picky about who she's willing to date. Northern women will happily hold out for a 6'5" rich chad until their clock's on the last couple ticks. Southern girls just wanna know that you're a good dude who's a good time.
