Been a while since I read it, but IIRC people in part 7 got their powers from pieces of the body of "the saint". Which was implied to be the corpse of Jesus. Again, IIRC, that's a scene from near the end when the corpse is mostly assembled and Jesus supposedly intervenes in spirit form

Big boss (technically) has returned multiple times. Jesus only once while we wait on a second time.

Just to point out; crucifixion was reserved for the most prolific of criminals in the Roman Empire, and the historical Jesus was just a lazy little boy who didn't want to do his religious studies and couldn't keep his mouth shut, so he would have been garrotted.

So the actual depiction of Christ's death should be him being hoisted over someone's back being strangled with his eyes and tongue bulging out and wetting himself.

The movies are always based on the mythology of Christ, not the historical figure.

Nobody wants to watch a two hour movie of a grown man acting like a petulant teenager moaning about why he has to go to prayer five times a day and one day everybody will be sorry as he'll start his own religion, so there...then gets strangled.

The actual person was called Joshua Ben-Joseph and wasn't too interesting which is why a film was never made about him. He tried to start his own religion without the all the prayer, ceremony and Rabbis. He also tried to get the Jews to rebel against the Roman occupiers. Which didn't endear him to either side.

His story got 'embroidered' over the years and he got magical powers and now we have the New Testament.

If you want a really good Jesus film, I'd suggest 'Mad Max 2'.
