I thought this kind of stuff had to be done by a 3rd party explaining the pros and cons.

I mean, yeah it's terrible but I don't know why this surprises anyone? Pretty much any and every retail or retail-adjacent job makes employees watch like an hour of slides/video about how evil unions are during orientation. At least I had to some years back when I worked retail.

You'd be surprised at the amount of people that don't know that this is a thing that happens. It's never a bad time to spread awareness, even if you only happen to inform one person

I worked in construction which was very pro union and right after that I worked retail which was very anti union and found it weird how anti union everyone else was. Just talking about it could get you fired.

businesses without unions in place hate the idea of unions forming. i watched all the kroger stores in my city close to block a union from forming a few years back.

It's sad how some of the anti-union shit works, too. Oh no, you might have to pay a small amount of union fees in exchange for raises, paid vacation, representation, healthcare, pension, etc.

I once worked for a walmart and they had those required trainings on the computer, one was a module specifically dedicated to brainwashing employees into learning about how unions were bad lol. This was the early 2000s btw.

Death Penalty
