Creepy Heifer, Nadine Ellis Maffei, a Canadian Woman in Ontario has slammed the police for making an unannounced visit to her house in response to her FB post in supporting the Freedom Trucker Convoy Protest after she said is thinking of attending!!

She posted a video showing an Ontario Female Officer knocking on her door to hand her a card and pamphlet after seeing her post to a FB group

She said she was considering going to the protest in Ottawa although had not been part of any demonstration

The officer said "Because of the protests happening province wide, yes we have been monitoring the protest. So there's a protest coming up, i'm simply providing information about a peaceful protest"

Nadine tells the conservative Toronto Sun "I was flabbergasted" who is a mother of 3 and owns a farm

She compares it to a dystopian novel in 1984 on "thought police and big brother".

She said "I thought this was a free country. To say i'm furious is an understatement. This is not ok. Ever!. What you see here is my video is not an OPP officer politely coming to my home to give me inform about how to peacefully protest. This is a violation of my privacy in every way, intimidation tactics and a huge waste of my tax dollars. It will not be tolerated"

This also occurred just as Premier Doug Ford called a state of emergency in dealing with the protesters

Canadian Police warned demonstrators opposed to covid rules who have been clogging ottawa streets for nearly a month to leave or face arrest, fines and seizures of their trucks as Justin Trudeau plans to use the Emergency Acts to give police more power.

Police warned that anyone convicted or taking part in the illegal demonstration will be banned from the UNITED STATES.

65 y/o trucker David Shaw said "We're still holding the line. and if i get arrested, we'll keep coming back for liberty and justice"

42 y/o Trucker, Jan Grouin echoed that and said Trudeau's decision to impose a state of emergency is overreacting to consider they are TERRORISTS

It's not a bad de-escalation strategy, honestly. It seems a bit invasive on the first pass, but this is using publicly available information to identify people that are potentially going to be involved in extremist behaviour and helping to make them aware of ways to express their opinions and beliefs without causing problems. There's still plenty of room to be skeptical about the concept of "government-approved protests," and of course this would be a lot less okay if they were using information she shared privately to identify her, but the basic concept of saying "look, we get that you're upset about this, and you have every right to complain about it, but you can't do X, Y, or Z, so join groups that aren't doing those things instead of that group that is" is a pretty reasonable way to approach the issue.

Once again the police going out of their way to help these clowns and once again the clowns see it as a personal assault.

Go ahead, take your children to the unlawful occupation, have them taken away while a massive fine is levied on you, spend a year in jail while your farm is sold off to pay your debts.

Pure schadenfreude fuel.

Makes a public post saying they are thinking about going and supporting a terrorist movement.

They probably get reported by someone they know.

Authorities take a reasonable action.

Gets upset that information they made publicly available had reasonable action taken to try and get them to not support terrorists.

The amount of times I see people around here calling a bunch of average Joe truckers "terrorists" is beyond stupid. Everyone is seeing radical right-wing boogeymen around every corner. Never stopping to think, perhaps they've been radicalized in the other direction. The numbers certainty make that case.

This protest is fundamentally a terrorist movement. They are, by definition, committing terrorism. This is not because of the cause for which they are protesting, it's because they are deliberately crippling infrastructure for the sake of coercing political change. How many times are you going to need this explained to you?

Kind of a waste of resources.. but I wouldn't mind that cop knocking on my door :D

Because pointing out that conservatives have allied themselves with fascists and white nationalists is really what is radicalizing them toward the far right and not the steady stream of right wing media telling them that liberals eat babies and want to turn you gay with their socialized healthcare death panels.

That isn't a scale of radicalization, that is just a lump sum of how many people fall in each ideology which fits given that democrats consistently get more votes than they do seats. I actually tried to google it and I can't find any scales or anything showing which side is more radical, but given that one side right now is almost entirely rejecting reality and replacing it with conspiracy theories it's difficult for me to understand when people try to assert the other side is radical.

They are being called terrorists because they are intentionally causing massive economic harm while holding a city hostage with threats of violence. But you knew that, because you've already been told multiple times.
