Basically, the child abuse is allowed to continue because the victim is a child. Because she is a minor, she is a protected person and suspending her would cause her "irreparable harm."

What this likely means is that Russia (a country not even allowed to compete under their own flag because of all the doping they've done) is going to keep doping every single one of their minor athletes, since there don't seem to be any real consequences for it.

As long as this means my Olympic crush Anastasia Mishina gets to keep her gold medal for the team event, I'm pretty meh on the whole thing, but it's definitely going to cause a shitstorm for months to come because it's Russia.

Also as someone who actually follows figure skating somewhat because my mom is huge into it, it doesn't make much of a difference. One of Tutberidze's students was going to win gold regardless of whether Valieva was allowed to compete. The only thing that's changed now is it will be a Russian podium sweep, with "Miss Perfect" at the top.

Olympic committee just setting a precedent that if you're 13-15, you won't get disqualified if your country forces you to take performance enhancing drugs.

My understanding is the CAS is the problem not the IOC
