i did that at my job for about 2 months at the end of 2021. It sucked.

Fear of homelessness and starvation is a strong motivator.

Do doctors make a habit out of shitting on the contributions from the nurses?

I worked 62 hours a week for quite awhile. Never bothered me and the paychecks were nice.

Some people like working. Staying busy. Productive.

it's one of the smart paths.
also the nursing profession is a morale killer. they have to deal with countless people getting infected (at least 80% of them unvaccinated).

For real that overtime is so badass

Hospital RN's have been telling me that the compensation for OT is worth it. No fear of the COVID-19 either because they are fully vaccinated and wear the proper PPE's.

Must be nice getting overtime for working more hours than required when resident doctors gets a salary that hasn't been adjusted for inflation for the last 5 years and also working 80+ hours a week for only 60K salary

4-10s the life. I try to take off at least 2-3 days a month too. Ive been off 4 days this week already and one more day off

Clearly you have never worked in a NYC hospital where I had to do all the transporting, blood draws, giving medications, and "helping flip the patient" to clean them while I worked as the resident on the wards.

Meanwhile I get push back from the RN asking can you please draw this urgent lab test so I can properly take care of this patient.

My favorite story is when a RN walked out of a code because she got nervous and scared so I had to bag the patient while taking my role as code leader during the chest compressions.

You clearly have no idea what residents go through. And we have no political power to change anything. The RNs at their base salary makes more than a resident who works 80+ hours a week when we are told to lie about our duty hours so the program doesn't get reported to acgme. Every. Single. Time. Residents gets thrown under the bus/ignored of our pleas. And at most we get a free slice of pizza or a bottle of water as "appreciation" and "being a healthcare hero". You post is a perfect example of it.

It's not when she has does similar things in the past (I don't even think it was a panic attack, she just wanted to avoid work) and has been reported multiple times in the last 10 years and all she got was a slap in the wrist.

I think they are considered "real" enough when by the second year training, they not only become scutwork and paperwork junkies for the hospital who are now able to make reasonable medical decisions with some level of supervision.

Agree, but hours for my job can fluctuate from 9-12hrs depending on the workload..having every Fri/Sat/Sun off is worth it

the weekends aren't that good imo. prefer weekday as long as the days off are consecutive :(.

Yeah, my place is supposed to be 4-10s. Problem is they are shit at managing their production and they've pissed off everyone within a 70 mile radius with three massive layoffs in the last 12 years that they've had to try and undo within 6 months of each so their reputation is trash. So I'm working at least 50 hours a week for the next 3 months. Which is fine, it just accelerates my house being paid off and me leaving the company.
