Just ask your woman how much into Valentine's day she is.
Nah, just be romantic. If you find out later that she doesn't need as much, then so be it.

I did but she gave kinda a vague answer. Basically like yeah it can be nice to dress up and go out to a nice dinner, but staying in and cooking something together could be fun too.

Hmmm, sounds like it's kind of your call then, I guess. You know what would be weird/funny, if you hyped it all up and she got all in to it because you put so much in to it and you keep doing that every year and then decades later she mentions she's not really in to Valentine's Day but she goes along with it because you seem to like it so much lol

It is possible. But it's the first Valentine's. Better to make her feel special even if she doesn't need it than the alternative of not meeting some expectations. Even if she doesn't care much, she will when her coworkers or friends are jealous.

The best thing is sending flowers to her work on an anniversary or something so all the coworkers get all excited for her. I am not doing that on Valentine's though, as stupidly expensive. I'll just buy some $20 bouquet at the store for when she gets home.

I still say not to overdo it. But just dinner, a small gift and maybe flowers shows you care.

Yeah, that's always a winner. You know what pisses me off about floral delivery now-a-days though? They bring the shit in a box and you have to assemble the shit yourself. I'm like what the fuck! Think she's going to see the thing in the picture you bought and ends up with a freaking girl scout build-a-project.

Through all ex relationships and marriage, i've never planned or gifted anything on Valentines day.

It's a red flag if a girl expects anything on an extremely superficial and corny ass day.

Depends on the place. I haven't had to deal with that.

Maybe calling it a red flag was a bit much?

I just let my thoughts be known about the scam that is valentine's day and prefer to celebrate dates that actually have significance in a relationship, which seems to go over well.
