Its all garbage anyway. The only thing I still buy from them are candle lighters.

I mean, technically, unless you live in one of the four states that don't have sales tax, items at Dollar Tree have always been more than a buck. :l

Its the place to go for cheap birthday and greeting cards.

All the stores in my area with the everythings $1 underneath the Dollar Tree logo peeled it off weeks ago but the silhouettes are still clearly visible lol

Dollar Tree was great when my wife and I were broke and living paycheck to paycheck.

.25 doesnt sound like much but now $20 can get you 16 items instead of 20. People buy toilet paper, soap, shampoo, medicine, etc there.

I still get household stuff there like tissues and detergent.

Weren't Family Dollar and Dollar General originally $1 stores too?

Some of the stuff there is a steal for $1; some things are hilariously overpriced. It is our job as consumers to make the determination.

4 whole items doesn't seem like a major impact. if talking 1.50$ yes it's a huge impact.
still saving on some things not so much on others.

Yes hence the dollar in the name lol.
and same. I buy toilet brushes and stuff I dont mind throwing away there. Also a flashlight, surprisingly solid quality for under 2 bucks.

Yeah. Which is part of the problem. Hell it just evaded me right now until you brought it up. But the people who hurt the most are always the one's scratching by to the point this makes a big difference. It's kind of ignorant to be well off enough and be like "Who cares?". The people who are struggling care >_>

stuff been a dollar for a long time. it's been probably 4-6 years at least when they first opened around here.

Should have upped the price to $1.30 so you could say it's the dollar tree dimes store.

Btw. Am I trippin or did bleach go up like 3x the price sonce the pandemic started? Was this a big news thing at any point?

Bleach was ever cheap?

They should have future proofed it for a few years and made the change to 2 Dollars. Then all you have to do is add a #2 to the signs.

I have a 3yo Nephew that likes to go down there and get craft stuff. Craft stuff for $1 is great for kids, imo.

This is better than the 5cent bag, imo. I felt badly for the cashiers that had to keep giving out 95cents in change to people that got a bag.

Pop some dishwash liquid in the bit at the top (the part you piss in if you don't like the toilet's owner) from time to time. Much less harsh on the plumbing, achieves a very similar result. Might need a manual scrub at first to get it clean, but this works well to keep it clean.

I go there for crafts and even with the price increase, it's still cheaper than if I were to go to Michaels or Jo-Ann or Hobby Lobby

I always get birthday cards, wrapping paper and trashbags there or at the 99 Cent Store.

All three items are usually kept only a week before being discarded anyway.

Technically going from 1.25$ to 1.50$ would be less of an impact than going from 1$ to 1.25$
