The first game gave an unusual amount of backstory and attention to Far Zenith and their Odyssey project. It's only Far Zenith's word that said the Odyssey was destroyed. The big mystery from the first game is who sent the signal that disrupted GAIA; space-faring humans wanting to move back home would have the means and the motivation. I never go too far in the main story because got sidetracked and did 60 hours of just killing dinos and upgrading equipment. eventually i had to stop because wanted to wait for the new rtx 3000 cards to come out because the 2080ti doesn't run the game too well at 4k (chugs to mid 40s fps during rain). idk if any updates have improved the performance since then. ofc i couldnt find a rtx 3000 card because all got sold out during launch day. after that i just lost interest in the game. --- I'm a Taurus I like collecting headphones and iems. A trailer released two days ago on the PlayStation YouTube account is close to 500,000 views already. Hell, one trailer for the game is close to 10 million views. People are very hyped for this game. The story is meh, the dialouge is flat out bad at times, the characters are bland, Aloy is a Mary Sue and is about as interesting as watching paint dry, the world isn't that compelling, etc. It just isn't that great. Sony fanboys just like to scream about how great it is because it was a console exclusive for years, despite it not being anywhere near the quality of games like Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, or Ratchet and Clank. --- Official Fujin of the Mortal Kombat 11 board. The worst of ubisoft openwork combined with a decent story but forgettable characters and was a drag to finish because of the quest design.
