I'm just a mafia nihilist and always have been. Until people actually throw down meaningful votes it's all kind of pointless.

I think day 1 discussion is good, but at the end of the day it really is just roulette if we hit scum or not.

Is playing roulette day 1 really optimal mafia strategy? Eh, probably not, but I've found trying to dissuade people from that generally just causes them to over react and vote for me because I have a different paradigm

While majority guarentees a lynch, it's plurality otherwise. Whoever has most votes end of day is going to be lynched, the extra vote doesn't make much difference in that regard as it is very rare for us to get a majority vote on day 1

It is a technically optimal play that is also suicidal. Also no fun.

It feels like scum would like it way more than town. It denies us info in the end.

Yeah, if we vote someone we at least have a chance at hitting scum (a better chance if we actually get some discussions going), we can also use the info of who voted for whom in the next round whereas if we just no lynch the mafia get a free shot and we still don't really know much more unless we have some cool night moves that find us scum for free. I don't really want to rely on that, though.

Voted Ulti for not playing the game which is a fair reaction tbh and if we're going to vote someone day 1 with next to no info I can think of worse reasons to vote someone. Other than that, I got nothin'.

I don't hate voting ulti for not playing. The big problem is if scum is inactive they will just keep rolling day after day not playing until they have to. Our activity is low enough I'm concerned that will be a problem
