Day seven. Its amazing how much better mornings are now.

I thought I was bad drinking 2-3 mixed drinks a day.

So I made 6 months last year and ive definitely felt overall better. No waking to hangovers is great. My mood improved to and I experienced less general frustrations.

Drinking problems aren't only about how much a person drinks. It's more about a desire to reduce or quit drinking clashing with the inability to do so and the negative consequences resulting from that conflict. The specifics of "how much is too much?" vary from person to person so it's hard to gauge our own behavior by another person's.

I say this not in judgment of your behavior or diagnosing you with a problem. That's your call to make, I just like to give people a heads up because I fell into the trap of thinking I "wasn't that bad" or comparing myself to others whose drinking habits dwarfed mine. All it did was give me a false peace of mind while I dug myself so deep I almost couldn't get out.

Good job TC and keep it going!

Id say the extra cash id waste on booze and now i can actually sleep through the night without waking up several times. Been a lot more rested and energetic.

I'm feeling pretty good. I briefly had thoughts this morning at work of how fruitless and pointless quitting alcohol is and how much more comfortable I'd be by grabbing a 15 pack on my way home but I battled those thoughts out of my mind and let the craving pass.

There's a website called In The Rooms which is 24/7 AA and NA meetings. Create a username and log in and use zoom.

Even at 3 in the morning, there's a group of people to talk with to keep you sober.

Do you have to use a webcam or anything? Or can you do chat only.

somebody here recommended a book called "This Naked Mind" by Annie Grace. I bought it but havent read it. Apparently its really good

Food is even tasting so much better, because I was smoking half a pack of cigs a day with my drinking (I dont crave tobacco at all unless Im drinking so I havent smoked since I stopped).

I had a bunch of plain cous cous yesterday and it was the most delicious thing ever, lol.
