As soon as XYZ summons became a thing I peaced out.

For me, it was when the ban list was created. Completely killed the game for me. I couldnt use just about every single really good card.

Cane back for duel links but lost my account after losing my phone.

Too bad there's maintenance tonight at the exact time my usual Yugioh streamer does his thing.

They should add Legend and KOG ranks to further quarantine the Busted Meta players from us returning/shitty/noob players. Trying to learn Sky Strikers and it sucks getting OTK'D after a 10 min turn of drytron setup with his herald negating 500985848494 of my effects

That's where cards like Forbidden droplets, or Dark ruin no more would come in handy.

Sky Strikers also have its own archetypal Kaiju card also. But it's not in the game yet as far as I could tell.

It's pretty standard but those crossout designators are real ass-savers. I kind-of want to run more rank 3 Xyz but I'd have to take out the Clear wing Tzolkin combo.

Nice! Do VW combos take long? That's one thing that's turning me off from Drytrons (maybe Megalith or Chaos (Max) Build). I honestly don't wanna take 10 minutes to do my combo like I have to wait through for others lol

I just beat a prank kids deck... it was awful. Neither of us drew shit in our opening hands because I negated their play second and fourth turns. I smacked for a measly 1100 several turns in a row before I could finally spam special summons and then I was able to negate the first nibiru I've ever seen. ;-; Was such a shit duel.

The stealth drop of this game confused me but its way better than I thought it would be. Its not perfect of course but I am surprised with how generous the game is. I was expecting it to be really expensive to get any deck together.

I havent had this much fun since I grinded out decks in Link Evolution. And Master Duel has one of the cleanest and responsive dueling UIs, again not perfect but we have come along way from dark duel stories.

Got Prank Kids and Virtual World on tap now after testing the waters with a Blue Eyes deck.

How are magicians? The structure deck actually gives you a lot for the archetype but Im hoping I dont need too many URs to make a fun deck.

O yeah, I have noticed the slow down in gems but I got a lot of value from them and didnt feel like I had to spend it all on cards. I like the cosmetics for games like this.

And funny you mention Toad :D Thats whats great about Prank Kids. Dropsies is a Level 2 aqua monster! And in the format even one Toad good.

Maybe its mean spirited of me to have decks to make sure I can play the most obnoxious monsters like Toad, VFD and Zeus. Along with trolling with Battle Butler fusion on your opponents turn.

It depends. Once you have memorized what each card does then you know exactly what you want to go into and how to get there.

You could tech in a Kaiju or a Sphere mode of your own as well. But I think people are just trying to get away with using Droll and Lock Bird.

The game doesn't show up in the Google Play store on my phone, and the website says "This app is not available for any of your devices", so that would imply that old phones like my Galaxy S7 can't play it. However, I tried installing it via QooApp, and the game actually did install and (seemingly) launch just fine. I can't do anything to actually see if the game will work on my phone until after the server maintenance is done though.

Says FU to a lot of decks and that extra burn is nice, especially since my Ancient Warriors deck has an easy path to OTK and every little bit helps.

Also it's only an SR in the game! And if you can spit out rank 4s easily, it's great in conjunction with Traptrix Rafflesia to easily prevent Nibiru or other hand traps!

I dunno why I do this to myself but the Master Duel board is probably one of the whinest places I've been to in a while. Yeah some duels do take a while, but there isn't really a TCG right now that doesn't have long duels. You can also just have like a 2 turn duel in YGO where other TCGs don't even let you do that due to resources, so I dunno what they want the game to do exactly.

Also this whole talk about old YGO is funny because this "old YGO" never existed. In fact Synchro era is probably old YGO by now, and the combos were simpler to consume back in those days but the combos could range to just as long as they can be now.

It's also funny when they push back against hand traps when hand traps are the things keeping duels shorter. You interrupt the first card of a combo and there's a pretty high chance the combo ends there or is shortened quite a bit. There are a lot of skill aspect to interrupting the right card

And I say this as a guy who's just trash at the game atm. I don't know a pretty specific chunk of this or that era like most of Arc-V era stuff and late Vrains era, so I keep running into decks that I don't know how to disrupt. I might have the hand to win but I played like trash so I fucking lost. It's frustrating but there's space to learn. It's just a process and people just don't want to accept that it's their fault and they need to learn. It's not like I don't fully understand but their absolute lack of awareness is frustrating too when they just blame the game for everything

And lemur I agree. Yes, the state of the game is daunting for a newbie or someone that came back after not playing for 20 years. But it's dumb to come back to a game after 20 years and not expect it to evolve.

Yes it's not perfect. Cards have whole ass essays on them. But that's just the learning experience. No one's gonna blame you for slow playing a bit to read cards. Hell, even as someone who came back 2-3 years ago, it's kinda cool playing this game and playing against a ton of decks you normally wouldn't run into IRL and learning about new cards. But I guess it's kinda just the Twitch and YouTube generation we're on where everyone is programmed to have the attention span of a fly.

Like if YGO isn't the game for you, that's cool and understandable. But don't try and come in on your high horse and whine that the game isn't catering to you. That's why I just laughed when earlier ITT the guy was like "I quit the game when they made the banlist because it locked me out of using good cards!" Like holy shit have fun getting FTKd then

Generic traps in general are no longer viable. There are some archetype-specific traps that are used and Infinite Impermanence because it can be used in the hand.

Most of the time if you're setting cards, they'll likely be targeted for destruction on the opponent's turn so you want traps that are chain-able which Mirror Force is not.

And simple destruction effects aren't good anymore because a ton of monsters get effects on destruction.

Man, I have no patience on online duels >_> Opponents take forever. I usually end up reading shit on CE while an online duel is going on and to see if there's a card effect I can activate if I don't hear any sound effects for a little bit lol. I just hope nothing gets fucked up too much while I'm not paying attention >_>

Prolly why I'll never play PVP. I would only play vs AI.

I'm getting this for PC right now. It's free.

So playing on mobile, it feels very nice while in a duel. But when deck building it isn't as streamlined as in console. Have to do a buncha multiple taps compared to the one you'd do on console. And you can't seem to swipe left or right to the next card when viewing one.

I don't see it on the play store. Is it not out there yet or does my phone just suck and can't handle it >_>

Galaxy A32. Theoretically it's powerful enough to run gamecubes games on it flawlessly.
