The atmosphere of those early HP games were so unique. Felt like they perfectly captured the "other worldliness" of Hogwarts.

I played Chamber of Secrets for the gamecube a lot as a kid but I couldn't beat the stealth mission that was a few hours in so I just kept restarting the game and playing the beginning over and over

My mom rented me one of the games, and even at that early age I was like "ugh, a movie game. well, let's try it."
And I kept waiting for it to get bad, but instead I just kept getting impressed with the schoolgrounds detail.

It was weird how the early Harry Potter games were each like 4-5 completely different games on different systems.
I also played Sorcerer's Stone for the gbc and it was basically a JRPG

back then, most games had a gameboy title associated, except the gameboy title was rarely even the same genre. Pretty much only fighting games and 2D platformers had any consistency.

Even the console and PC versions of the games were completely different which confused me at the time.

I played the sequel Chamber of Secrets on Game Boy Color. It was still a JRPG and it was so much fun.

Wait, there was a Diagon Alley level in Sorcerer Stone? I thought the game just plopped you in the school and told you to collect jelly beans >_>

Occurs around 2/3s into the game iirc.

I do like how the early games weren't just mimicking the films, they did their own thing and it worked pretty well.

Yeah, played the PS1 version of SS first then got the PC version which was IMO so much better. Not just performance, the entire game was different other than following the same storyline.

Played the PS2 version of CoS which was great but didnt feel like it was a sequel to the PS1 game in terms of gameplay/style, then got the PC version again which was the same gameplay/style of SSs PC version so I liked it better mainly because of the continuity

never played any after that. Wish the old PC versions were on Steam or something
