A sperm donors betrayal has led to one mothers shame and an orphaned child. A Japanese woman is suing the biological father of her second child for 330 million yen ($2.86 million) after learning that hed lied about his identity. The Tokyo resident, who is in her 30s, thought shed found a successful Japanese man with a Kyoto University education, and had sex with him 10 times in an effort to get pregnant, according to Japanese media. The woman had previously had one child with her current husband, but decided to conceive with a donor when she learned her husband carried a hereditary disorder that could be passed to his offspring. She sought the help of social media to find the perfect candidate. The efforts paid off in July 2019.

But soon after getting pregnant by the donor, the woman, who remains unidentified in local reports, learned that the biological father of her unborn child is, in fact, a married Chinese man who did not attend the prestigious research university. The woman decided to put her baby up for adoption as it was already too late to abort the pregnancy. Shes now suing for fraud, citing emotional distress caused by his lies. Japans sperm donation industry is largely unregulated, according to a Vice News investigation. Commercial artificial insemination is scarce, and its limited only to heterosexual married couples. The situation has led many parents to take their efforts online and into their own hands. Mizuho Sasaki, a child welfare worker in Japan, called the woman shallow, in a statement to Vice, for treat[ing] the child like an object. Sasaki added, But I think its better to leave the kid with someone who can be a good foster parent.

Just what I was thinking. How would his education level even have any bearing on the child's own intelligence/ambition?

Also, it's ridiculous that only hetero couples can get artificial insemination over there.

You'd think with their population crisis they'd open the gates on that a bit more

A lot of sperm banks have the donors put their education level down, because they believe if they went to a prestigious school, they have better intelligence genes

It actually makes a lot of sense the woman is looking for a specific type of donor. The baby will inherit half of the father's trait. Race matters for physical appearance or how "handsome" the baby could get to be. Education matters because if the person was able to graduate through a reowned university it means they have some degree of intelligence or skills that could be passed down their baby. If he didnt attend a good university then maybe the father doesnt have a very good skill set to pass down to their baby. There is still a chance the father still has good traits to pass down but it is unknown and she wouldnt want to risk it. Think of it as meeting the education requirements bring your chances up of having good genes from 30% to 50% (made up numbers).

Despite being scammed, the mother is in the right to be mad at the guy for what he did and should be sueing him. However she is not a saint herself because who the fuck gives away a baby just because it might not turn out the way you wanted.

Yeah there is no good angle on this at all, everyone is scummy but the baby. I hope the baby gets the love and attention it deserves with the right people.

Most women wouldn't care even in Japan, since Japanese women are increasing turning to Chinese and Korean men over Japanese men, I think this lady is quite racist, unfortunately that might screw up the baby's mental state later on.
