I can never stop watching the SF Giants no matter what happens but apparently. theres some out there that will stop watching

I believe it because the 1994 strike lost a lot of fans

Come back, Nick Castellanos. =(

Although, I've been paying attention a lot less since the lockout started. Still playing MLB The Show '19, thankfully. :P

The 1994 strike cancelled the World Series. The 1990 lockout cancelled some spring training games.

Until the regular season is in real danger, a lot of people won't pay much attention to this. Personally, I'm rooting hard for the players-- the first 6 years under team control is bullshit.

MLB has done a good job at killing my interest in the sport. The issue with the juiced balls, Manfred saying the world series trophy is a piece of metal, etc.

Yes. I cannot wait to park my ass in the stands and enjoy a Dodger Dog, garlic fries and a beer again.

I'll keep watching, providing they resolve this of course. There's lots to complain about regarding MLB and the owners, but none of that is enough to kill my interest.

It's hard to say whether or not I actively care. On one hand, I'm watching and paying attention to baseball just as much as I normally do during mid-January (which is none, in case that wasn't obvious). On the other hand, the fact that the sport is so locked out that the MLB removed player images from their websights just makes the sport all the more interesting, as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, and that'll be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame. Baseball has always been a strangely business-like game, which is especially strange for the one sport with no salary cap. As it stands now, I'm curious to see how the lockout pans out because I enjoy chaos, but on the other hand, missing opening day would be a huge bummer.

While we're at it, let's all note that this is a lockout, not a strike.

Manfred is the literal worst commissioner in sports. The others may be hated because of comments or such, but he literally makes rules and decisions that make the spirit of the game worse.

The juiced balls really hurt a lot of my interest because it made every hitter just stop caring about avg and focus on home runs because it was better in theory. Even if it's better in theory, it made baseball a very boring sport as it devalued home runs and turned it into a strikeout game. The rise of the shift also hurt a lot of baseball imo, but I won't get into that. I really think singles, doubles, triples and base running is an integral part of the enjoyment of baseball.

The decline of base stealing really cuts into the excitement factor. Sometimes it's like everyone's just standing around waiting for a home run.

Yeah, the 'three true outcomes' nonsense is the most boring part of baseball. I'd be in favor of moving the mound back at this point-- the pitchers are too dominant.

I've been watching baseball since I was 4 years old and was lucky enough to watch my home team win a World Series (and go to a game in that series, one of the best days of my life) at age 6. I'm a baseball fan for life and I doubt anything will ever change that.
