Big cats dont purr. Purring and roaring are mutually exclusive, so lions, tigers, leopards and jaguars are all incapable of purring, while every other cat can purr but not roar. - https://www.discoverwildlife.com/animal-facts/mammals/why-can-only-big-cats-roar/

So, I'm totally confused about this nonsense about Tigers purring.

Would a tiger eat an orangutan?
Yes theyll eat any pretty much any type of flesh. It goes hand in hand with being an evolutionarily successful carnivore.

Also, why the fuck does Blake think "eye" rhymes with "symmetry?"
That's bugged me for at least fifteen years.
Though it's likely that by the time Blake wrote the poem, eye and symmetry did not rhyme, Blake often used slant and eye rhymes in other poems. Combined with the fact that even at his time he often wrote archaicly, it wouldn't really seem off to rhyme the to two words. I could just be talking out my ass though. You'll never know.

Not in the same sense that housecats can.

I'm not TC, but just as a reference, there are multiple man-eating tigers that have human body counts in the hundreds. Not families of tigers that total that body count.

Just...individual tigers that have killed hundreds of people. If they wanna eat you, they will.

I think the lion or tiger might actually be the least deadly members.

tigers because they can take down good sized prey and only need to hunt like once a week.

lions because there are so many other carnivores they can steal prey from.

Cheetah's can purr because they are categorized as a Felinae, while other "big cats" are in the Pantherinae clade.

The main difference between them being not size, but the formation of their hyoid bone. Felinae have a bony hyoid bone, which is why they are able to purr. Pantherinae do not.
