Yeah, I got fired from target when I was 19 cause I read my schedule wrong and had a no call no show within my first 90 days which is an automatic termination.

Was really weird, they fired me like two weeks later and my direct supervisor was on the verge of tears saying she had tried to not get me fired but it was corporate policy.

I didn't really care all that much tbh. Some of the people I worked with were cool but I hated that job cause it was so boring.

A lot of low level jobs have a 30 or 90 day probationary period where they fire you for any small slip up. So literally the opposite of what you're suggesting unfortunately.

*shrug*

This was almost 15 years ago so im not sure if it's still the same. But target had a "probationary period" of like two or three months where a certain amount of times being late and any no call no shows was an automatic termination, period.

Like I said, it was whatever. My department manager seemed to take it much harder than I did.

I stopped showing up to a job once because the supervisor treated me like shit (made fun of me, used to grope me as some kind of power move, talked shit about me to other people, etc.) so I got "fired" for that, but I was never coming back anyway. Does that count?

I got to the end of my internship in college and was let go. I was disappointed because I was the best one but they kept two other people who had kids and shit. Like three months later they called me back because the other 2 fools didn't work out. I was like "lol okay" but I already decided it'd never be the place for me because I dont want kids so I started drinking and smoking bowls at work and they fired me in about 6 months for lateness. I would never behave like this now but I thought it was hilarious in my early 20s.

As my friend liked to put it, I got fired from a job that didn't even pay. It was actually a day-release kida deal where 1 day a week, home school sends you out to get some real work experience, and after a few months, I just happened to stop taking this one place seriously. But yeah, my friend loved to think of it as my free labor being not worth it. Either way, that was my first sign that komputers are for leisure and entertainment, not jobs.

Another one was karpentry in my late teens/20s. New rules rolled out that everyone needs certification, and this was near enough the time I was giving up my karpentry stuff in kollege n started preparing to move to England, so when they found out I was no longer working on said certification, they kicked me out on principal. Not mad, though. The job was another sign that things I enjoy in 1 kontext do not translate to enjoying a kareer involving said things. Literally the only think I like was when I started using my free time to kraft some wooden shuriken, kunai, and a scythe.

I worked for a landscaping company and when it slowed down for winter I was laid off. I was basically the lowest guy on the totem pole and there wasnt enough work to justify keeping me.

The owner still invited me to the company Christmas party, gave me a Christmas bonus and bought me a few drinks.

Only time Ive been let go. He was a cool guy there werent any hard feelings.

I was fired because the new manager wanted to replace the current staff with new employees of her choosing. I was fired the morning of the final day of my three month probation period, so the final day she could with no warning. She asked me to work for the rest of the day which is when I grabbed my stuff and walked out. My supervisor later told me she wasn't upset at me, she would have done the same thing.

@MrDrMan

I actually did but I left again. The owner was cool, the actual guy running the job I was working on was awful. I was setting some stones for a seat wall and he literally grabbed me and was like No, set them here. I never came back after that. I dont care who you are. Dont touch me. Took everything in my power not to just tee off on the guy.

That was years ago now. Never doing landscaping again. Dont mind hard work but the cold was absolutely brutal. Learned a lot of stuff at that job.

Technically yes? But also technically no? It's complicated.

I've told the longer story before, but the short version is that I was the longest-tenured employee at a movie rental place during college. I had outlasted 3 managers, and 2 full rotations of the entire rest of the staff. Money started going missing from the store, and I figured out based on times, schedules, etc. that it was the newest manager who was stealing. So I took that information and went to the district manager. I was fired a week later on some bullshit completely fabricated customer complaint. Got a call about a month or so after from the regional manager telling me that the district manager had been working with several of the store managers in his area to steal a significant amount of cash from the company. They were all fired and, while I'm not 100% certain, I believe they were in the process of filing criminal charges. But the regional manager was trying to re-staff like 20 different positions, and by suggestion from the rest of my store's crew wanted to offer me the manager position for that location.

I was graduating from college and moving back home about 2 months later, and they didn't have a store closer to my home that I could transfer to, so I had to decline. Apparently he had actually heard glowing reviews of me specifically several times from previous managers over the ~2.5 years I'd been working there, and he seemed genuinely sorry about what happened and disappointed that I couldn't stay with them.

So yes, I was fired. But then it was rescinded and they offered me a promotion instead.
