I recall at least a couple that filled up in just over an hour.

I was in a competition on here about a decade ago and one of the team challenges was to try and get as many STPs with as many teammates as possible within 24-48 hours. There were 10 teams of 10 users each. Over those 24-48 hours, there were I think at least a dozen 500 topics as a result of that challenge. @Dreamprism might know the exact number.

I don't remember exactly what the time was, but I'm pretty sure the CEnco de Mayo 500 was the fastest.

I think it was something like 2 or 3 minutes.

No idea about the fastest CE topic to get to 500 posts, but I think the record for all of GameFAQs is 34 seconds.

I could look it up but don't feel like it.

Honestly, that whole competition was awful to grade, and I had to wake up at odd times to post new topics. The whole Epic Struggle nearly failed because of that challenge being controversial.

However, I must correct you on one point. It was week 2, so we no longer had 10 teams of 10. I believe several teams were down to 9 players and one was down to 8. Thus, up to 2 people from some teams "sat out" the challenge in order for participant numbers to be equal among teams.

Finally, on the topic of fast 500 post topics, the one I hosted in 2009 on The Famous Five was the fastest of my topics to reach 500 posts. I forget the exact timing, but it was a record-breaker at the time & was under a minute for sure.

That wasn't on CE, but several people from CE did help out with it.

The crazy thing to me is that this happened on the 7th anniversary of my first ever GameFAQs account (SuperSonic2002). And now I've passed my 20th anniversary of that account creation.

Anyway, thanks for remembering the event. :)

And thank you to Machete for tagging me here. I don't often browse CE these days, but I still have GameFAQs basically as my home page on my phone, so I see notifications.

I really miss the old days of the boards when things were more fun. Boardwalkers, secret board hunting, goofy exploits, and things like the fast 500.

Now its just arguing over the same 5 political issues. I guess its too late to go back:(

Someone giving $5 to every 10th poster to the point it broke the lock limit and it went up to like 4000 posts. There was also a time when Guwa accidentally had all of his alts spam a thread at the same time, resulting in him being suspended. There are a couple threads where users organized a 500 post thread to be completed in seconds.

I mean, there's nothing stopping you from just not arguing the political issues.

I remember CE when if you made a topic and refreshed, it was already on the 2nd or 3rd page (50 topics/page).
