I tried to like this show, but it clearly couldn't decide on if it wanted to be a send-off to 80s kids who grew up with Karate Kid or some sort of reboot for modern kids; complete with half-assed political messaging that feels almost like it's meant to appeal more to the former crowd, but then consistently doubles down on it anyway as if it's too afraid to commit to one lane or the other.

Between that and all the adults acting like spoiled kids I kind of just fell out of it. It didn't seem like it was going anywhere and it seems like they've settled into making it some sort of weird high school drama that lasts forever.

I thought this season was great. It started off amazing, but it kinda dragged in the middle, but it ended great as well. And the setup for Season 5 was very good.

I will never care for the storyline with Johnny and Miguels mom. She deserves better than that loser lmao.

Silver was the best character this season, and Im interested to see how hell be as the main antagonist next season.

Robby was also great, Im happy about that because he was terrible last season.

I really liked Kennys character. And I like how they didnt want us to sympathize for LaRussos son. Kid was being a dick all season and he got his ass beat and he deserved it.

Sam has been taking Ls since Season 2. Shes like the damn Gohan of the show at this point lmao

And can we talk about my boy HAWK getting some redemption? I was popping off that whole final fight lmao. He was pretty wack this season, one of my main gripes with Season 3 was how he changed sides too quickly. It was obviously going to happen at some point but I didnt really like the way that they did it in the S3 Finale.

And I actually like how theyre saving Miguels rematch with Robby. I dont really know how theyre going to keep their conflict going for another season, but I guess well see. Same with Tory, its been pretty one sided with Sam being the one not liking her for a while.

I think S5 will def be the last season though. Maybe they stretch it out to 6, but I dont think it goes past their Senior year.

I thought I had heard a year or so ago this was gonna be the last season, but that doesnt look to be the case with the ending to the season.

Thought the flip flopping between Kreese and Silver seemed not developed enough to be believable.

So season 5 will wrap up these stories...
Johnny searching for Miguel. Then Daniel teaming up with Chozen vs Terry with possible return of Mike Barnes. Then wrap up Daniel's Kid vs that kid who went crazy and Tory and Sam's rematch. Robby already got beat twice, so not sure what's left for him.

Johnny will go after Miguel, and it will turn out that Miguel daddy is shitty and wants no part with him. Johnny will then tell Miguel that he may not be his father, but he is his daddy. Then Miguel and Robby become brothers

When Terry told that kid to act cowardly in order to beat Robby during the karate practice, it made me wonder if Terry intentionally acted cowardly during the war so Kreese would step up when they were captured during war. Terry's thing seems to be to use people to get his way.

thats an interesting theory, but no I think terry was legitimately terrified during the war and it was clear as day he wasn't really equipped for it. I think that the longer he stayed with Kreese, the more he started going to his darker self, exposing people's weaknesses. Remember, Terry was really trying to help the Cobra Kai dojo, but Kreese kept getting pissed because it wasn't "his" way. Terry got fed up with Kreese guilt tripping him and had to resort to framing him to get him out of the way. Not only that, but he is more terrifying because he has money and resources so back hand deals like bribing the ref is going to be easier to do. I'm really looking forward to how season 6 is going to play out. I just hope the show doesn't go on for too long, maybe at most Season 7. They are starting to run out of material to pick off from the Karate kid movies.

nah. i think you're just overestimating stingray. he really is a big enough loser that he'd take that beating to stay in cobra kai. the karate kids are the only friends the dude has ever had. he took cobra kai and made it his identity because he doesn't have anything else. not hard to imagine he'd be that desperate to stay in, especially when kreese's rejection almost had him in tears.

I enjoyed this season. As someone noted earlier, I like how they made fun of the ridiculous plot of Karate Kid III. I don't know what it is about this show but I thoroughly enjoy the hell out of it.
