Probably my favorite Halo campaign since 3, if that helps. I think it's better than 4 and 5, I haven't finished the campaign for Infinite yet, but it's exceeded expectations so far.

Eh, it's like... 9 hours off content? If you have $60 to spare and you like the game, I guess for completion's sake, go for it.

Personally, I'd save the money for a brand new game, 2022 is gonna be FUCKING LIT.

It's the best 343 Halo. Up there with Reach and 3 imo

Ignore when people say that the title length is not important, that a title should just convey what the game is about. They're just jealous theirs isn't as long

This is by far the best Halo in years. I have Gamepass though, so I'm not sure I can properly judge it's worth.

I didn't know that, that sucks. Surely it's something they will add in an update, they'd have to.

No game is worth $60 especially when there's cut content they later sell as DLC for $10+.

you pay $70+ for the full experience.

Does it have a more diverse set of enemies and some actual boss battles, not just same one over and over? Also, is there some good vehicular combat?

To a degree, yes, and mostly more of the same.

They're planning to add a "traditional" style to the SP later, I think, with a mission select.

It's definitely more than 9 hours. I put around 30 hours in doing mostly everything. Just haven't gotten all the collectibles and skulls. Certainly if you're really into the gameplay of Halo it's worth it.

The enemy variety is pretty good. The boss battles are the best in the series by default I guess, since Halo has never really done those well. However, they are also much harder than everything else in the game. On Legendary I died many times to almost all bosses. And from what I've heard, they're all still challenging on Heroic too. Difficulty aside, they're not too bad. All enemy AI is more aggressive in this game though, and it's even more notable with the bosses.

Vehicle combat is sadly quite bad. Most vehicles are far too weak. Warthogs are prone to flipping. The driving controls for the Scorpion are not easy to get used to. Marines also cannot drive for some reason. It's not too much of a blow though because generally you want to be driving them around armed with power weapons.

I got it on game pass. First playthrough was on Heroic and I did like 1/3 of the side stuff. Intended on doing all of it but liked the story so much that I kept going. Final completion percentage was 48% after 13 hours.

Second playthrough is on Legendary and Im going for 100%. Just finished the story and Im at 88% after 18 hours. Probably gonna take me another 3-4 hours to find all the remaining audio logs if I dont get distracted by other stuff.

Ive enjoyed every minute of both playthroughs and intend on doing at least two more (one on normal for the achievement for finishing the story in under 8 hours and one LASO when co-op comes out) so I feel that it would have absolutely been worth $60, but I played it on game pass.

It's definitly worth a gamepass subscription.

It's decent. Probably the best game since 3 and the best implementation of boss fights. Definitly worth checking out if you're a fan of the series.

Hmm yeah. Although Gamepass is a much better deal. You could even use Game Pass to play it now and buy it down the line when it's cheaper. Multiplayer is free to play anyway.

If youve never used game pass the first month is only a dollar. Even if you have used it before its only 15 bucks a month. Much cheaper than the 60.

update: got 100%, final time was 21 hours on legendary. But audio logs carry over between playthroughs so that shaved a couple hours off at least.

Then I started a new game on easy with the bandana skull on (infinite ammo, no equipment cooldown) and finished the whole story in 2.5 hours to get the achievement for finishing in under 8.

I somehow never had a brute throw a grunt at me. Or at least I never saw it happen where I could kill the grunt before it landed. Thats the only campaign achievement (other than LASO) I have left.

Total campaign playtime: ~36 hours across three playthroughs

Cant wait to do it in co-op

for people mentioning game pass, i feel like I need to say that it isn't common knowledge that PC has its own library of games on it that is worth the price of the subscription alone. Like I mentioned it to a few PCbros and they just assumed it was an Xbox exclusive thing with no gaems on PC or some sort of streaming shit that required a series S/X >_>
