The only time I ever open Twitter is if some poster here shares a direct link to a tweet. Otherwise that block feature is the best goddamn thing they've ever thought up.

There's nothing wrong with using Twitter because a lot of time you could miss out on giveaways from companies and other cool things.

Even if you have an account (I created one specifically because I was getting annoyed by what you describe in the OP), this glitch or at least a similar one persists with regards to NSFW pics. If you view one, when you try to go back it boots you to the top of the users feed.

yeah this isn't limited to twitter, most social media sites do this

my least favorite part about it is how they pose it like it's a "recommendation" or a "you should" sign in, when in fact, it's neither, it's a requirement.

Fuck Twitter

There's nothing wrong with twitter by itself. You can completely control what kinds of things show up in your own feed on it based on topics and people you follow. If someone goes off the deep end and you don't want to see anything from them anymore, unfollow or block them. Easy Peasy.

I use Twitter a lot to keep in touch with my Vtuber friends.

Because of this I am used to middle clicking if I have to look at Twitter. I try not to unless theres something very specific I'm looking for, and I'll never make a profile.

Yeah you can't read comments or anything on a tiktok link without an account either. Fuck that shit.

Instagram is worse, but fortunately there's hardly ever a reason to be on Instagram.

For Twitter, you can open things in a new tab, and when that's not an option you can copy the URL where you see that prompt and paste it into a new tab.
