The problem with expensive jeans is you rarely can look and tell the difference.

You can certainly feel it.

But the 60-100 price ranges gets you nice looking and decent feeling jeans.

im all for paying for quality, but if you have to cut back somewhere jeans arent a bad choice (I rather have on an expensive shirt and shoes and levis)

i think the bigger problem is that a lot of lay people erroneously believe that anything exorbitant in price is going to be just as exorbitantly gaudy in appearance

Is $200 for the year or a single pair? If it's for a single pair then you really need to start living within your means. If I bought a pair of jeans that cost that much I must either be filthy rich or out of my God damn mind.

I wouldn't want to do anything dirty like hiking or working in them because of the cost. They don't look particularly more comfortable than my normal jeans. What's the selling point?

I agree with the minimum jeans price. You end up paying more money on the cheap stuff over time then the expensive stuff provided you take care of them

My Ksubis are around 260 and my Off-Whites are 850. Both are stupid comfy and they will last forever.

Can you get jeans for a significantly cheaper price?

Yes?

Then $200 is quite a bit.

Brand names are largely a scam. Buy what you want and show it off as much as you like, but don't pretend these are financially efficient purchasing decisions.

https://shopvirtueandvice.com/blogs/conscious-shopping/cheap-vs-expensive-denim

Looks like you will be buying the same denim in most cases even when the jeans themselves vary heavily in price.

So assuming you aren't buying the cheapest jeans by far, spending $40-50 vs. $200+ is about the same as far as quality goes.

I don't think it makes people angry it's just a waste of money to most. If you go to some place where everyone and their dog is wearing designer shit and have on expensive jewelry they will just think it's the norm.

To most Americans though it's a silly waste of money. Acting like everyone wants the blood of TC for daring to buy $200 jeans is a bit ridiculous.

I also find it funny when you can find a price point for most things where even people worth say $40 million will even scoff at the prices. Designer can spiral to the extreme, and you can end up in a world where you are paying say $100k or more for a designer dress.

$200 dollar jeans made from $1 worth of labor. Do you really think the jean is actually worth its value relative to the quality? Nope!

How do I know this? Friends from FIDM and my ex went to Otis design school in downtown LA. Unless you're buying something custom made to wear to the red carpet or you're buying a business suit, it's not worth shilling out ridiculous money on something that depreciates. But I do admit to spending $300-400 on a pair of diesel jeans back in my fobby-existential dread days.

Wal-Mart or Target or Amazon has the full range of jeans on offer from stretchy to workman's armor style jeans. $200 is tooo much to be honest. They aren't casting some magical spell on these pants.

There are different varieties that vary in stetchiness. I've settled on Levi's "athletic" brand (stretchy) as my perfect spot. Its $20-25 a pair and they last for years. I bought my most recent pair at King Soopers (my local grocery store). Don't spend $200 on something this utilitarian. It won't be better except in your own head.

Lol okay good, I was wondering how long people can be obsessed and baited by a 200$ jean topic. I was just imaging a decade of the 200$ jeans war.

Ketchup people weird me out, like really? Ketchup on everything? I can see the pitbull one I guess but if people have met pitbulls there's not really much to it if you've been around them. Your dog or random baby, hmm that's one to think about I guess by CE standards.
