Recently I bought a Cross Wanderlust Borneo. I was at an office max that was going out of business, and their fancy pens were 40% off, so I snagged a $60 pen(cheapest I can find online is just office max not on clearance) for $36. This was supposed to be my forever pen: a pen so nice, you don't need anything else. Well, in my case, I wouldn't, because while I like a nice pen I am not a huge pen fanatic.

I lost it at work. Tore up the place. Cannot find it. I think I know what happened: I had it clipped to my pants pocket. It must have clipped onto a plastic bag I gave to a customer, because I noticed this happen before with a pen in a similar position clipped on my pants, but I caught it before anything bad happened. I was also remarking how the clip on the pen wasn't clipping as tight as usual(which, Cross pens seem notorious for clips losing tension). That is the only thing I can think of because I cannot find it anywhere and I remember where I last had it(at work, writing something in the office), so it isn't lost in my car or at my house. I hope, if my theory about it clipping on to a bag is correct, the person who got the bag returns it, but I wouldn't count on it.

Sigh....It was a fun two months while it lasted.

That's sad. My condolences.

My mum bought me a Cross pen that was on clearance at Staples, it writes like a dream, I could not imagine having to go back to Bic's and Papermate's after having used one.

Yeah, this was a ballpoint, which is preferred for me because I do a lot of writing on reciept tape and they doesn't like a lot of ink types.

You pick it up and it writes smooth. Couldn't have asked for more out of a nice ballpoint.

If you want a good pen that writes like a dream and won't piss you off too much if you lose it, I recommend the Uni-ball Power Tank. They're a Japanese-made ballpoint with a pressurized cartridge so they can write in any orientation, even upside-down. They run about $2 a piece on Amazon.

Uni-ball Power Tank.

Great pens, they were better when they first came out (imo) I still have three of them because of the "security ink" feature. Haven't used them since I got my Cross.

I work a job where customers need to sign papers amd it's crazy how many pens they grab and pocket, like they're all kleptomaniacs. Maybe it's not on purpose, but I can't imagine bringing a fancy pen to work.

I loved giving the pen to people to sign stuff. I never had anybody walk away with it though. I would be right near the person using it and if they tried i woukd just ask for it back.

Oh, thought it'd be a fountain pen (I would have been like, "Goddamn, Argo has CLASS!"). Granted, that was still a nice pen.

I've been using a Pilot Namiki Falcon as my daily driver for quite a while now. It would really bum me out if I lost it. Not really a big concern though since it rarely leaves my office.

fountain pens, I imagine would not write very well on receipt paper, which I do a lot.

Ballpoint is good for what I need, and this pen indeed wrote clearly and smoothly every time. I never had to draw circles to get it started and it wrote consistently through. But on a ballpoint, you can get that same writing smoothness on a pen less than $10, after all, this is proprietary Cross ink. Refills are like five bucks. But it looked so cool and felt like a piece of tool jewelry, akin to a watch. And it felt good in the hand when writing.

I was working again today and it did not show up. I am still annoyed at this. Christmas is right around the corner, even though it wouldn't be 40% off, I could always ask for another one. But this calls in to question why even bother if I can lose it like that? But...the gaudiness is also something I respect. I don't need to carry around this thing, but it brings me so much joy to hand it to others. I did just get a 100 year old pocket watch("toothpaste" colorway, as some said here in the past)...man showin' off is fun.

Well I'd say buy another and if somebody returns it then now you have two.
