Sometimes, they do. Some liberal congressman once sawed off an AR-15's barrel, and illegally created a Short-Barrel Rifle. He claimed he was destroying it. He got away with it.

Lightsabers aren't real, and even if they were they're swords which were made obsolete because they weren't as good at killing people as guns.

Plus if you fall on a lightsaber you'd die, and that's not an intent to kill.

what is an "assault weapon"? Nobody in the US, where assault weapons have been almost entirely illegal since 1986, seems to know what that actually means.

That's strictly a legal term, created by politicians who don't understand what an assault rifle is.

Common attributes used in legislative definitions of assault weapons include:

• Semi-automatic firearm capable of accepting a detachable magazine;[10][13]
• Folding or telescoping (collapsible) stock,[13] which reduces the overall length of the firearm;[15]
• A pistol grip that protrudes beneath the action of the weapon;[13]
• Bayonet lug,[13] which allows the mounting of a bayonet;
• Threaded barrel, which can accept muzzle devices such as a flash hider, suppressor,[13] compensator or muzzle brake;
• Grenade launcher;[13]
• Barrel shroud.[13]

Basically, any rifle that's even slightly modern, fires an intermediate caliber instead of a full power cartridge, and isn't an old ass relic is an "assault weapon."

My understanding of Mosin Nagants is that most of them were disassembled, and then reassembled as Frankenstein rifles with mixed parts. Not sure what current pricing is, but yes, the rounds still exist.

i love ww2 history. is it tough to get one's hands on an M1 Garand or other well-known guns from that era nowadays? i don't mind buying one that's been rendered unable to fire or whatever. just think it'd look good on my wall next to the other stuff.

I think 9mm is great for a pistol. I think for a carbine, you're better served with 5.56x45mm. Why buy a rifle that fires a mere pistol round? That's the way I see it. And I much prefer a stock for accuracy, unless I'm Kyle Reese trying to pack discreet firepower under a trenchcoat until The Terminator reveals himself.

I think this depends on your jurisdiction. There's no federal law against it.

Never going to happen. 6.5 Creedmoor is a battle rifle cartridge. 6.5 Grendel could happen someday, though, as it's an intermediate caliber that would work in a rechambered version of the M4.

I just picked up an 1861 C.S Richmond high hump carbine. It seems complete for what it is. A modern screw in one spot, but action works great. Barrel is corroded in and out, and stock is ok. Both stock and barrel have been shortened.

Some questions I have are:
How many were made?
What's it worth in its current condition?
What bayonet would have been on this musket?

And lastly, are original/repop parts available?
