That is why you wakeup when they say. You work harder when they bark. You tell your wife, "sorry Hun, late night, gotta do this for work" instead of going out to enjoy what you built with her.
When your kid takes their first step, you will be at work unable to see it. You will say you are doing it for them, but a kid would rather have a dad than money and a wife her husband.

C or D?

well. maybe. i work for a school

but the school heavily relies on funding, which is granted based on how well our school operates. and that funding pays our CEO, so im sure getting money is part of her mind set but we're largely non-profit so i dunno.

D.

I work, but

No one tells me when to wake up.
I never work past 5:30.
I was home when both of my kids to their first steps.
I have more than enough time to spend with my family.

C/D: You exist to make someone else more money.
D. Because of the wording.

I dont exist to make them money. Thats a black and white statement. I work so I can support myself. Im employed by a company so my work does make them money, but its not why I exist. I get what youre going for, though.

But yes, just like so many other people, someone else makes income from my labors, but I lucked out by getting a job from a local place that was already established enough where they could compensate me well enough that I dont complain.

You offer a good and service. Employers offer a payment for it. Not sure why this is so hard for some of you to understand.

I work to make myself money, and I live comfortably off of it. I am able to buy much more with this money than I could've have produced on my own with the same labor hours. It's a huge net benefit for me.

If you spent as much time pursuing your own thing as you do preoccupying yourself with how unfair it is that you're employed by someone else you probably wouldn't have to be.

Way to tell everyone you don't understand basic economical concepts

Even if you get super literal with the process, it's the same thing. When you give an employer your resume and interview, you are selling yourself. You are telling them what you have to offer for this job. Then they give you a salary offer, and you get to choose whether you accept this salary or not.

You keep acting like we're slaves with no pay and no decision making power over whether we take a job or not.

gotta vote C at this point in my life

currently a security guard who works for other people, and a big corporate company. i definitely work to make others more money.

currently in school, but once i graduate i will most likely work for another corporate company, but hopefully higher pay and less shitty. but the fact still remains, i'm participating in a "rat race".

This is not the 50s. You do not just give out your resume and they offer you jobs they hope you can do for them. Are you a boomer?

You have to give your resume when there is a job posting and you have to interview for a job. Stop nitpicking bud.

Actually thats exactly what you do. Have you ever used Indeed? You post your resume and jobs will find it then invite you to apply. Applying after youve got the invitation takes like 30 seconds.

I guess C, though I don't think what you're describing applies to me or many others.

I work a lot of hours but also get a lot of time off. I also choose to have a professional job so that I can live in a nice place, eat what I want and where I want, buy what I want and be able to travel and take vacations without really having to plan to "save up"
