I only watched the first 2 eps but I like it. I enjoy how it references different scenes and remixes them into episodes, like the casino scene is just the convenience store scene from the movie and the part where Spike is walking around Space Mexico asking people to ID a bounty is right from the Chess Master episode.

I guess my only complaint is that there is probably too much plot and drama lol. I love the filler stuff in OG Bebop since it rarely ever referenced the plot and just focused on the task at hand. Meanwhile, they weave in and out of the Syndicate stuff a lot through these episodes and it kinda breaks up the flow a bit. But otherwise I'm having fun so far >_>

Jet is easily my favorite part of the show. This actor is spot on with his portrayal.

I feel the worst decision was "we have to make 22 minute episodes into 45 minutes", because that's what led to this unnecessary extra plot stuff.

I blame Netflix for that one.

I really hope they rewrite his character and change the actor in season 2.

Besides Vicious and blond lady. I loved the show. At first I didn't like Faye, but that was not because of the character but because she was different. Looking at her as her own person I like her. But as a few others have said Jet is a the man.

He has an episode to himself and I could literally just watch a show about that.

Yeah the syndicate stuff is definitely the worst parts. The bounty hunting stuff is pretty fun to watch at least.

I'm middling on John Cho as Spike. Sometimes he nails some scenes, but other times he does stuff out of character of Spike. No opinion on Faye yet since I haven't seen much of her yet

Vicious was one of the worst parts of the original, so no surprise that part is consistent. Issue does seem to be that Vicious gets significantly more screentime than he did in the OG. Giving him more time to ruin shit.

everyone is horrendously out of character to the point where some episodes make it a point to portray them that way. its really really annoying, and the marvel esque writing is just the cherry on top of that already tall pile

I actually like the new Vicious better. The dichotomy of Viscous/Fearless is like Yin-Yang. Fearless is the calm and collected one, while Vicious operates in a state of barely contained rage. They compliment each other perfectly.

Like I know it has it issues, but people complaining about Ed being too like the show makes me wonder what people wanted. People complain about almost any change that this had. And complain when it sticks too close to the show.

The problem is they changed a shit load about this for the worse. I just started the Mad Pierre episode and by god did they change the atmosphere and style of that episode.

So idk why they feel the need to change some of the most iconic scenes in the original yet keep some of the worst parts of the original 1 to 1.

I liked it. Went into it fully expecting how it turned out. An over arcing plot, sweet music, and several references to the anime peppered in.

only have 1 episode left. gotta go back to the original once im done with this since i havent watched it in a while.

as for this one, despite being silly and goofy as hell (specially some of the dialogues and the way the characters move), i enjoy it for that. there's some entertainment to be had here.

however, its not the type of show you should drop everything else just to watch it. lol

I'm enjoying it but stylistically it kind of reminds me of the Ocean's Eleven movies and that feels a little dated at this point

at least Jet had a somewhat interesting backstory. lol

I finished episode 5, so I'm like halfway done. I'm enjoying it so far, watching one episode a day.

Jet's actor is amazing and matches perfectly with the anime Jet and anime Vo. Spike and Faye are alright. They are likable.

Watched one episode and thought it was super bad. The dialogue is atrocious and everything just feels like they spent all their energy making some interesting trailers, then everything else turned out poop.

for the record I didn't expect any live action version of cowboy bebop. (I mean thats like if all of a sudden an Outlaw Star live action series was made). yeah it has popularity but I was never thinking "man if there was some actor out there to play Jet".

If anything I would like new animated episodes.

Spike, Julia, and vicious are three favorites in that order and two of three are butchered

Vicious isn't even vicious. He's just some European thug. Also why dis they give him an accent? Other syndicate members did have accents in the original, but not Vicious. He was meant to be a monster, and a cruel killer, particularly from all the betrayal he felt and his red eye addiction.

That's the actor's normal accent. Although that brings up why they felt they really needed that particular actor. He doesn't look the part at all and he's not really doing anything spectacular.

Vicious is definitely a character that should have been given the Lee Van Cleef treatment. Say only little, and communicate mostly with facial expressions. But then again, they would need a hell of an actor for it.
