I think he got a little too physical for what he was, but I want to like Doc Ock.

Comic Ock seduced, married and piped out Aunt May in a scheme to get her land rights or some shit.
Years later while hijacking his body he made Peter (who was conscious but trapped in his own body) experience the wedding night as a "fuck you".

Fucking nobody has anything on the shit Marvel puts Spider-Man through lol

Spider-Man 2
I didn't like how Doc Ock was taking spider punches to the face. I suppose Peter was holding back 99%.

Pete always holds back otherwise any random street level thug he punched would be a bloody stain on the sidewalk.

Yup, the latter part anyway. Him marrying her happened back in the 70s

I remember when that run was being released and everyone was raving about it. I read the first couple of issues but didn't ever finish it

A line of dialogue could have explained it. Maybe he used a variation of the serum to handle the arms and the power surge caused the arms to glitch, taking over part of Octavius's brain, releasing exponents of serum and turning his body into a factory for the stuff when it fused with his spinal column. It's an important point.......

Actually, Doc Ock has always been the one Spiderman villain who needed special explanations past the original run. Even Hammerhead we can accept because it's obviously organic and if he can do that kind of damage using his forehead, we assume his body was somewhat modified along with it. And Hammerhead is THE weakest villain in Spiderman.

Guys like Doc Ock and Shocker don't take punches from Spider-Man. It's one and done and Spidey famously "pulls" the hits so he doesn't kill them accidentally
.

Weird move to go and do what they did with Goblin but ignored Ock. It could have been done in postpro.

Part of the reason I'm not a huge fan of 2. Seemed like a weird ode to the PS1 game tbh....

I'm guessing 4 was supposed to be Lizard & Electro
