I was in a hurry to cook and meal prep so I just put rice in it and estimated how much I needed. Then tried the knuckle trick and it worked out perfectly.

Knuckle trick is said to work no matter thr size of your pot or hands. You place your hand in the pot with rice and add water to the second knuckle.

Do you put the tip of your finger on the top of the rice or push it down to the bottom of the pot?

I've heard people sweat by the knuckle trick, but like Snake said, rice cooker is the best option.

You can get some small, really affordable ones for like $15-$20 bucks. They're SO awesome.

I eyeball it since I cook it pretty often. Though I tend to put a bit less water than needed cause I like a firmer drier rice that soaks up sauces.
