I know it's a FPS but the trailer for 6 gives me Just Cause vibes for some reason, which I enjoyed JC3 and 4, so I'm mildly intrigued.

None of them seem related (particularly) so is it possible to skip straight into 6?

yeah you can start with any of them. there's a couple recurring characters but I haven't gotten far enough into 6 yet to know if they're in it

Both series tend to favor lush, tropical environments, but beyond that I'm not sure I'd really compare them. Far Cry is good for if you like open world FPS games (including vehicles), and the ability to play either shooty or stealthy. It gives you a lot of stealth options, so that's how I tend to approach it

The only one recurring is that Boom Boom is literally Boomer.

2's good but aged less than gracefully, 3, Blood Dragon, and 4 are good, but all kind of the same, and Primal is good. I'd skip 5 and New Dawn. 6 is good so far, but not without its own dumb oversights and limitations

Absolutely not. Those two offer some of the most fun of the entire series.

I think you'll have fun with your first FC. The problem with Ubisoft isn't that their games suck. It's just that they get comfortable barely changing their sequels and it's easy to get burned out on their series. Especially because they also all share certain aspects that get tiresome.

how do you know it's the worst one? I doubt you've played it. people say the games are all the same but they changed a ton of stuff. obviously they're not going to change the fundamental gameplay of an open world fps. I'm only like 5 hours in but I'm enjoying it so far.

Tbqh 3 and 4 are the only ones where it didn't feel like they made noticeable changes to the way the games played. Like in a general sense they have some common elements but if you play 4 and then 5 they are very different games

It made 4 really boring imo. Far Cry 3 had already did the same exact thing except it was more unique for it's time. Far Cry 4 waajust another shooter at that point.

I thought 4 had a much, much better story and villain than 3, but yeah I wouldn't recommend playing them back to back because of how similar they are

For my money I found Hoyt to be a more interesting villain in 3, but both of them pale in comparison to Pagan Min

Blood Dragon was probably my least favorite out of the series. It had some cool ideas, but it was one of the least aesthetically appealing games I've ever played and the story was completely forgettable. Plus the humor in Ubisoft games is consistently bad and BD really leaned hard into it. I realize I am in the minority
