The electric is good for trimming it down when it's gotten longer, and it's good for keeping it neat when you use it more often.

never used an electric razor, I have no need. I go 4-6 weeks before needing a shave. not much more than whiskers even two weeks in

Electrics are pretty slow. I can shave manually just as fast and with a cleaner result. Only down side is clean up.

I haven't shaved in close to 20 years. I preferred a straight razor when I did.

I've never used a manual. It causes razor bumps the majority of the time.
