Being rich and black may actually get you persecuted by jealous black people who aren't rich.

Heck, being black but not 'acting black', gets you bullied by people who do "act black".

Fresh Prince has episodes on this, as does The Boondocks. Carlton was called a "sellout", for instance.
I can also attest to this from personal experience. I'm black, but was raised in white neighborhoods my whole life. I was called an oreo, black on the outside, white on the inside.

So, sure, you can be sarcastic about it, but it is a very real thing.

If you ever have the misfortune to have a child attending a school where there is an active shooter, do not start calling them.

I saw at least a dozen parents doing that so far.

Ask yourself this question; if you were trying to hide from a gunman do you think your phone ringing would make it harder?

Hi.

I live in the very state where this shooting took place. Polling stations and drop-in boxes were being actively removed to force people to drive long distances away to vote. Mail-in votes were heavily restricted.

Meanwhile, I could literally roll out of bed and drive 7 minutes away to buy a gun from my local Academy today. Another guy I know had an entire fucking assault rifle shipped to him via UPS from a gun store down here. It's goddamn motherfucking Texas, there's more guns than parking spots down here.

There is absolutely an argument to be made for purchasing a gun down here being easier than casting a vote.

You named one of the most conservative states in America as your go to example, lol. Of course it's going to be easier to get a gun in fucking Texas than probably anything else. I never said every single state, I said most.

The DoJ definition of mass shooting isn't universally accepted even within our own criminal justice system and generally speaking not what people are talking about when they use mass shooting informally.

I suppose it would be better to break down categories of shootings by intent rather than effect. To which you've got 4 categories.

1. Targeted assassination
2. Incident escalation
3. Terror
4. Accident

And so when people say "mass shooting" informally what they really mean is "terrorist attack" and yes James Holmes, Adam Lanza, etc are terrorists.

As stated above the informal definition typically refers to indiscriminate killing, basically going somewhere and shooting whoever happens to be around. The main issue with this is it obscures a lot of underlying issues, because by that definition youll see reports and statistics based off of the 120 mass shootings that have occurred since 1980, which certainly makes everybody say, wait a minute, that doesnt sound right. Of course, by the definition of 4+ victims wed see numbers like that inside of a much smaller period of time.

I also think that its abhorrent how many analysts will try to just not include gang related violence. Thats just fucked up... really has a those people vibe.

Yes, Columbine shootings are super rare. When they want to push a gun control narrative, they do use Twitter beef shootings to inflate numbers

When I was in highschool, my school had metal detectors and police officers routinely walking around the campus. At least one police officer would sit in car outside monitoring the area for anything suspicious or setting up a checkpoint for anyone driving by asking questions or directing people where to go
