Somethings definitely up. I loaded the game, figured Id do a few things around the house and when I was done Id be in a game.

Queue placement was 602. 30 minutes later when I checked again, still 602. I think Ill just wait to try again until next weekend and hope they get this resolved.

Just submit a refund request and move on to a game from a company that is less actively trying to fuck you.

It's okay I was mainly using it for the stats and I just traded to get a 17/19 Necro one. Learned my lesson about where to put my good charms in my inventory I guess.

yesterday I was as doing a cows with a buddy and a Ber dropped. I didnt get it lol.

Day before that my other friend had a Zod drop. Super rare and cool but too bad its not really worth anything.

I had an Ohm drop for me today. So I guess my rune luck i somewhat decent.

nice. The mask is common but the armor and ammy are super rare and worth a bit.

Spent basically all day trading up to another Lo rune so now my Frenzy Barb is pretty much perfect.

He has 2 Grief and Fortitude now. The only thing I'm really missing is a Bul-Kathos ring but everything else is "perfect". Oh and I could get better charms, a Barb torch, and Anni but those are just extra stuff.

I really lucked out at one point in the day. A random Paladin joined one of my trade games just to MF. We ended up doing Baal together and I got an essence that I used to make a token. As soon as I left that game I saw a try trading a Gul rune for a token (way too high) and snagged that. For reference I traded a Lem rune later in the day for a token myself.

Traded my SOJ for an Ohm rune.
Traded 45 Travs for Gul Mal
Traded a Shako for Ist
Traded 3/20 Fire Eschuta for Ist ( I think I got ripped off on this one but not by much )

Trading takes so much energy in this game I'm drained now

I'm just now learning about how good runewords are. When I played this game back in the day I was always focused on getting things like Tal-Rasha's or Trang's sets for that class, and never paid much attention to runes. I can't believe I missed all of that for so long.

Heck yeah runewords are really what get me through normal and nightmare before I can start to equip anything decent

I kept hearing people talking about Engima and when I was new to the game and googled it, but then I saw runes, was like "Well runes aren't that good, their boosts suck" and disregarded it. I probably traded some of those really high end runes for garbage set pieces at some point!

Rune drop rate was SUPER BAD until one of the later patches in the game's lifespan so I wouldn't be so sure you have.

Even now they're pretty tough to come by.

Yeah you'll pretty much be selling 99% of loot that doesn't help your character unless you want to save something for later for either that character or a different character

Anything that adds to skills, magic find or resistances you'll want to keep

You use that to identiy blue, yellow, and unique (brown color) items. I would recommend buying a Book of Town Portal and Book of Identify from Ashara in Act 1 and keeping both full.

Also stock up on stamina potions in the beginning because you run out of stamina super fast. What class did you start with?

Sorcerer. I just got wrecked by Graveyard Lady. Does this game auto save?

It doesn't really auto save but it keeps track of the quests you've completed and any waypoints you've found. If you quit the game and open it again all of the maps will be reset and different so that the monsters respawn.

So make sure you're finding waypoints if you want to return to an area easily in the future. Also if you die and leave the game before picking up your body it will be in town the next game you create so you can pick up your gear.

So now that I've finally realized the awesomeness of runes (and that you can use gems to transmute higher level ones, can finally clear up that inventory space!), is there any places people have luck farming them, or the socketed gear for runewords?

I can sense an obsession growing.

the countess will always be a source of low level runes

only acts 1 and 2 on normal sell socketed items otherwise you just need to find them. Lowering your magic find will help you find more socketed items.

I'd recommend this cheat sheet for new players to see Runewords and farming locations and stuff:

There's going to be a LOT of information here so I would just focus on the runewords. Sort by level and try to make some low ones while you're leveling.

Upgrading runes is useful in the beginning when you don't have any but ultimately it's a waste of time because the amount you need increases exponentially. For example in order to create the highest rune in the game (Zod) you would need 14 TRILLION of the lowest rune (El). Anything under a Lem is not worth cubing up unless you need a specific rune.

If you're completely new to runewords a few things to keep in mind:
They only work in WHITE items (no blue, yellow)
The item has to have the EXACT number of sockets to match the runeword. So you can't put a 4 count runeword into a 6 socket item
Runes have to be entered in the exact order listed in order to work.

Nef + Tir in a 2 socket helm makes Nadir
Tir + Nef in a 2 socket helm makes nothing

So be careful and double check when you're making runewords

Lore - helm
Ancients Pledge - shield
Rhyme - shield
Spirit - weapon
Stealth- armor
Insight - weapon for act 2 merc using polearm. This is godly OP

yes so most polearms from NM max socket at 4 so if you find a white one or even an ethereal one you can use the act 5 quest to max socket it to 4.

remember, merc gear does not degrade so using eth gear is preferable since it has higher base stats compared to normal variants.

also i think that cheat sheet is out of date or incorrect in some aspects because I was in a hell cow the other day and Kira's Guardian dropped off a normal white cow but the list say its one of the uniques taht cannot drop.

Hmm the area level is 87 but the cows are only 81 so I think you could get it from a chest but it should be impossible from a cow.

I always thought the Act 5 quest maxed out at 2 sockets. That makes finding one a lot easier!

act 5 quest maxes out the items potential sockets.

so like a monarch will always be 4 sockets, phase blade will be 6 etc.
