A pro-Trump congressional candidate in Virginia called for election audits in every state after an audit in Arizona's Maricopa County found no substantial changes in the results of the 2020 election, upholding President Joe Biden's victory.
Republican Jarome Bell, who is running in Virginia's second congressional district, tweeted Friday, "Audit all 50 states. Arrest all involved. Try all involved. Convict all involved. Execute all involved. #MaricopaCountyFraud."
Bell, who served in the Navy as a chief petty officer for 27 years, is running as a conservative "America First" candidate in the suburban swing district encompassing the Virginia Beach area, according to his campaign's website. Democrat Elaine Luria currently represented the district.

After flipping the seat blue in 2018, Luria won against former Representative Scott Taylor by nearly six points. Biden also won the district in 2020though Trump won it in 2016.
Bell previously ran for the seat in 2020, but came in third place with only 22 percent of the vote.
His remarks prompted outage from other Twitter users, with many calling for the tweet to be removed.
Former U.S. Congressman Denver Rigglemanwho previously represented a separate congressional district in Virginia but lost renomination in 2020 due to officiating a same-sex marriageresponded, calling the tweet "ignorant tripe."

"A lot of self-proclaimed Christians liking this tweet," he wrote. "I would bet someone is documenting everyone 'liking' this ignorant tripe. Stupid self-identifies. Sanity has to be more aggressive than crazy."

Some Republicans have called for election audits in several states where former President Donald Trump narrowly lost to Biden, including Arizona and Pennsylvania.
In Arizona, Republicans pushed for an audit in Maricopa County, the state's largest county that traditionally voted for Republicans but flipped in 2020. The audit results shared Friday found that Biden won by a slightly larger margin than the pre-audit numbers indicated.
Still, that has not stopped some Republicans from claiming that there was widespread fraud. At a rally in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday night, Trump falsely claimed that the audit found that Biden lost Maricopa County.
"We won at the Arizona forensic audit yesterday at a level that you wouldn't believe," Trump said. "They had headlines that Biden wins in Arizona, when they know it's not true. He didn't win in Arizona. He lost in Arizona based on the forensic audit."
Despite the Arizona audit reaffirming Biden's victory, Republicans in Pennsylvania continue to call for an audit of the state's 2020 presidential results.
An audit of the results in Texas, a state Trump won by about six points, was announced on Thursday for Dallas, Harris, Tarrant, and Collin counties. Biden won all but Collin County.
Newsweek reached out to Bell's campaign and the Virginia Republican Party for further comment Sunday evening, but had not heard back by publication. This story will be updated with any response.

For the love of God can we please audit Kentucky's Senate race.

What's the point of any of this?

If we should audit all the states, why not audit every single race too?

At least with Kentucky you can at least make the argument that McConnell's approval (39%) prior to the race, doesn't nearly reflect the 58% he won, winning all but 3 counties (yes I know most counties in KY are smaller in nature).

Point being, why should any race be off limit if we should audit every state?

But the people involved so far were all on his own side. He's calling for the execution of his allies, which tbh isn't out of line from some other current republican strategies.

His consequence is not winning his election, most likely having his Twitter suspended, and a visit from the FBI/Homeland Security. Expect an "apology" in the next day or 2.

No they aren't, especially if the GOP keeps on this path. The problem with the GOP's plan is they're alienating everyone while also killing of their own base. If 45 is still involved by them, Dem turnout will be very high as well.

Sure, let's do that, but only if we extend his offer to also try, convict, and execute people like him who participated in this election fraud bullshit farce when Biden still wins the election again.... For the 70th time.

I wish you are right. I want to be wrong.

but the news tell me that Dems are pretty much in a circular fire squad right now:

Black voters are mad over the Dems not passing the voting rights act (and rightly so!) and because of the Haitian immigration issue (which I find odd. They never cared when the immigration mistreatment was directed at Central Americans).
hispanic voters are mad over no immigration reform (which, to be fair, they were promised).
socialist voters are mad over no free college and new social safety net legislation and Medicare for all.

most Democrat voters are mad over the non-passage of the George Floyd act (and rightly so).

it seems the only democrat faction Biden is trying to please is the manchin/sinema one, who arent even real democrats and hate the party anyway.

but the bigger issue I perceive is there was no consequence for the insurrectionists and the people who came up with the idea to overturn the election. We were this close to losing our democracy, and now these people get a second try in 2024 and over 3 years to prepare. They may lose the election but take over power anyway.

one last comment: it doesnt matter if their base keeps dying from covid if they make sure democrats cant vote (see: new Texas voting law)

Well said even if it's super depressing. I hate to be so negative, but I think some people here and elsewhere have way too much faith in Democrats, Americans, and the system to the point of delusion.

I wish this shit would end already, Trump lost and he's gonna lose again if he runs in 2024. Republicans need to shut the fuck up and start playing smart if they want to take the house & senate next year. Everything they're doing right now is just going to turn their base against them, and will probably form a new political party.

No, I'm pretty much losing faith as well.

There was maybe some hope when the Dems retook the Senate and the Presidency, but everything since then they have been like a wet kleenex, along with two very annoying spanners in the works.
