as Jabodie said youre going to find the best deals online. However, if youre impatient the way I sometimes get retro game resellers are the way to go.

Yeah I'm not dealing with all the bullshit that comes along with ebay. I don't mind paying a little more.

Hit up some garage sales in your area and hope you get lucky. Might find some other cool stuff while you're at it.

Whether it's a little or a lot more well depends on the store. The closest retro store to me sells games at 50% or 100% more than ebay listings, but the owner is an asshole. Nonetheless, I haven't been to a retro game store where the markup wasn't significant. It is also very difficult to find popular games at them sometimes since they are usually bought immediately.

But that's just part of used items I suppose. The individual seller is not also in the business of buying used games to stock shelves.

Edit: I usually only get cheap retro games from mom and pop shops. If even a 100% markup is only $5, I don't mind. But when a $30 game online is $50 in store I pass.

Craigslist, Retro Game stores, flea markets, thrift stores, sometimes comic stores, and yard sales are your best bets.

I haven't done much flea market/ thrift shopping myself. As an aside, if you're trying to buy Pokemon games make sure you know how to spot fakes. They are expensive and popular enough that people pass reproduction cartridges as real, and they make it into used game stores.

I have done alot of flea/thrift market shopping and the gems are almost all snapped up instantly. Sometimes you get lucky and find rare xbox games etc, but the cartridges and any real retro stuff like Atari gets insta-snapped. gf always drags me to goodwill etc

No Pokmon lol

Mostly just a few physical copies of games that disappeared out of my collection.

SNES Harvest Moon
Mario Kart 64
Mario Kart DD
Super Mario Sunshine

There's a few more I think, those are just the ones that I can remember easily

Flea markets
Thrift stores
Garage sales

Can all have some rare finds. I go thrifting frequently and even though I live in a small city I saw Odyssey 2 games there once.

Thrift stores and flea markets are rarely worth it. Over the past decade people have taken to making a side hustle out of reselling games for inflated prices on eBay and thats where a lot of them get them from, so the only way youre going to snap them up is beating some dedicated shitty people to them

What bullshit comes with Ebay? Ive never had a problem because i follow the golden rules.

Always read the entire description. Make sure you know what you are getting.

Check the sellers rep and account age (dont buy from someone with 30% satisfaction or a 2 day old account with no feedback)

Avoid red flags. (Prices too good to be true, no pics of the item or stock pics, super cheap items with redonk shipping rates, sellers trying to get to to pay offsite, ect.)

Once you get the hang of it, you can save a ton of money.
