What was with the 15 giant leg monsters in Lost Izalith? There's literally no sane way to navigate that place that doesn't involve just putting on the lava ring and fucking sprinting into the distance.

They were also snuck in randomly in DS3 at Smouldering Lake where the Old Demon King is. Just one of those callbacks to the original that made the end of the trilogy so fucking satisfying.

really? I got sick of the "hey remember that bit from that other game?" moments. it felt like it wallowed in ds1 rather than calling back to it

I mean yeah, there were plenty of knock on wood moments from the George Lucas' School of Poetry in DS3 lol, but in the grand scheme they served a natural purpose in retaining the familiar while adding new and then tying it all together.

The Ancient Wyvern at Archdragon Peak was such a hilarious "oh no...no...NO we're seriously doing this?" meme battle. Felt like Miyazaki wanted to do his version of the Death Star II from ROTJ

I always thought those statue things were weird.

unlike the other enemies, they didn't come off as (un)dead, but stationary objects instead, so it felt unnatural when they came after you.
