I dunno. The way I hear it, Rise of the Resistance is a nice compact experience that's well-handled, but two days worth of just... Star Wars hangouts and stuff? I'm skeptical as to being able to keep this up.

Like what, they're gonna have a dude in a Sullustan costume tending bar for an eight hour shift?

Yeah one thing Star Wars hasn't really tackled is unfettered capitalism. Whenever the rich and high-class are displayed it's all fine and dandy stuff like that weird opera in RotS. Like Christ people there's a galactic war going on.

And in the case of this experience, you're basically paying to be one of a 100 exclusive people that get a pampering for a day and a half in nerd land. Like I like Star Wars but I like it in my head. I don't want to have it thrown at me in a shameless display.

I suppose they tried to get close in Canto Bight, but really it was more of a sideshow than anything else. They almost had something with going on about arms dealers and how they fund both sides, but that was after the goofy casino and the save the whales event and then they rushed back to the plot with no further discussion.

Meaning what in the context of a theme park?

You can go up to the cast member say "Hey you're Darth Vader" and get your picture taken?

The ST is the least popular, least interesting, and most boring era in SW is why.

People want iconic characters they give a shit about, no one fears Kylo bitch boy Ren, but they fear and respect the fuck out of Darth I am your father Vader or Emperor I am the senate Palpatine. The heroes of the OT and PT are also much more iconic and respectable, no one looks to little girl Rey as a big hero like they do Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Yoda.

If they want to improve on the SW experience they need to set it to the PT or the OT where real heroes and villains are around not the sad jokes of the ST.

No one would think twice about fucking over the first order(fries and a drink bitch) but they would pause a moment if it was the Empire. Even the CIS was more threatening then the first order due to characters like Durge, Assaj Ventress, Dooku, and Grievous.

This is some fun stuff, I am talking about the story narrative like where your in Galaxys Edge and the first order is looking for people. I promise you that Vader with troopers or clones (501st Vaders Fist baby) is a damn sight more intimidating then baby boy Ren trying to search for people and pretend to be tough.

Vader was a baller, Ren is a bitch.

I am saying it should not be locked to any one era at all but if it was locked to a specific era then the OT and PT would draw even more people then it already does. The whole SW experience is the draw of Galaxys Edge and the hotel not the era, people have said the experience is what they loved not the ST era.

If they did not lock this to an era it would have a lot more people jumping to go and vastly more options for this area as well for different events and what not.

SW has more iconic and loved characters in the OT, and the PT especially due to TCW and Rebels adding so much more to those eras.
