Depends on personality and who you are interacting with.

I worked retail, lasted about a year, it was very very hard to hide my arsehole nature and be nice to the shit head customers.

It depends on the people.

Being nice stresses me out because its very unnatural for me. Im generally however the person acts towards me. If theyre nice im obligated to be nice back.

Easier to be nice, cause if you dont give a fuck its almost like youre just a nice person. For me to be actively angry or mean takes energy and just isnt worth it.

I complain a lot and thats never seen as nice unless i complain about something someone agrees with. That comes off as sympathetic.
