Like, I can't even imagine another way to efficiently refer to a group of people. Is this why northerners are so angry and distant all the time? They don't know how to talk to people so they just push it all down inside? What a terrible life. You can have y'all if you want; there's plenty of it to go around.

I live in the south and I don't think I have ever used "y'all" unironically.

They use "you" as both singular and plural.
Though I've personally long since added "y'all" to my vocabulary, it's much clearer in some contexts. Especially when using it in the general sense rather than referring to a specific individual(s). --- Trumble does not belong on pizza. ... Copied to Clipboard!

You're right. There aren't too many Second Person plural pronouns to choose from in the English language, although some Northerners use "y'ens" for "you ones."
