Dislocated my right hip playing football. Broke the ball of my femur, took a nickel sized chunk out of my hip socket, tore all the ligaments. I was horse collar tackled and the bottom of my foot touched the top of my head.

Gallstone clogged up my gall bladder duct. Happened a couple times. Only lasts a few hours but it's a few hours of your whole middle torso in extreme pain no matter what you do.

This, but mine ended up causing pancreatitis.

Ended up having my gallbladder removed, but apparently it had fused to my liver so they had to burn it off.

Recovery was so awful. Felt like I was getting stabbed anytime my abdomen did anything.

When I was in 3rd grade, I was staying at a hotel with my family and snuck off to the hotel gym. Like an idiot, I turned the treadmill speed up to the highest level and stepped on it. I fell face first on the treadmill and went flying off into the glass mirror behind me. Shattered the mirror; but luckily I didnt sustain any injuries from that. My shin was completely fucked though. Skin and flesh was basically ripped off to where you could see bone. Worst pain of my life.

Years ago I walked through a swamp in Louisiana to find some fish for lunch. I noticed something big and bulky in the water so I went closer to it to check it out.

I stepped on it because I thought it was large rock. Turned out it was a alligator snapping turtle. That creature turned around so fast and clamped on my leg and pierced it with his beak jaw.

oh my god.never again. I called 911 for the police to arrive and try to get it off. It got to the point where the turtle was about to completely rip my lower leg off. The cops had no choice but to kill it. They shot it in the head.

i had surgery to fix my wound and went on my way

the alligator snapping turtle has a bite force of 1400 pounds per square inch. I felt like I was already dead cause that was the most excruciating pain Ive ever felt. Never again.

Severe sunburn covering the entire upper half of my body, was covered in blisters for a week. I could not sleep through any of it, so I just ended up watching Home Movies on Adult Swim through most of it.

To this day I still cannot watch Home Movies without thinking of that incident. Make sure to check the expiration date on your sunblock.

I managed to fuck up my leg really bad at one point and basically couldn't so much as touch it without it feeling painful as fuck for a couple of weeks. Still basically refused to take time off work (after all, an injured leg isn't contagious, so I didn't see what the big deal was...) until both the manager and a doctor pretty much said I have to. (The job was a cashier one - so, standing, but otherwise not using my legs. And I still had one good leg to stand on...)

Are you talking about pain proceeding surgery? I had ACL surgery last year and hardly had any pain at all. I even I only took one or two of the opiods they gave me.

@Beefbud Did you have the hamstring method done? I had the patellar tendon method done the first two times (actually tore my ACL three times). The first time I woke up from surgery in so much pain that a drop of water hitting my knee would have probably made me cry.

Im sure it hurt, but if they prolapse, hemorrhoids can be a lot more painful (and even dangerous) than people realize. He may have been doing you a favor.

Oh. Yea that definitely makes a huge difference. My 2nd surgery didn't hurt as bad since the patellar tendon graft came from my good knee (which basically split the pain in half to share between knees). My third surgery was actually done using the quadricep tendon graft. It was painful, but I can't remember if the first one was worse. I think so.

Wisdom tooth had a hole in it and every second or two I felt a sharp nerve pain. Called the dentist and had it pulled for $400. Worth every cent.

Oh, right, THAT'S the worst pain I've ever felt. Cracked a molar and had to wait until the next morning for the root canal. I thought my head was going to explode (this was in '98, before 24 hour pharmacies)

Herpes outbreak in my throat. Really bad sores all over my throat, every time I swallowed it felt like swallowing broken glass. Doesn't help that I don't have insurance so I took longer than I should have to go to the doctor and figure out what it was and get on antibiotics. I could barely even eat anything for like 4 days.

Some runners-up:
Kidney stone. Passing it didn't really hurt, but making it's way into the bladder felt like really bad back pain that would not go away whatsoever. Actually went to the ER for that one.

One of my wisdom teeth got infected and I had to wait until the next day to go to the dentist. Awful pain, could barely sleep at all. All good after it was pulled, though. Recovery wasn't any issue and I didn't even have to use any of the really good drugs they prescribed.

Edit: I also forgot, one of my nipples is tattooed. That was awful, but I didn't really think of it since it was by choice.

I've had a pretty sheltered life, probably the worst pain was falling down the stairs in my basement a few years back. Knocked the wind out of me, my chest hurt for a solid like month afterwards.

Scariest was when I rolled a squat bar over one my vertebrae and cracked it.

I'm not sure. The worst in the past few years was definitely my tooth infection. Shortly after I removed my wisdom teeth, and the pain during recovery when the meds wore off was like 70% of the pain of the infection. I only really felt the recovery pain in the one that was sideways in the gum though.

After getting nasal surgery during recovery I sneezed so hard it opened up all the internal wounds and I had to go to the ER and was an inpatient for a few days with a morphine IV.

That shit was overrated it did fuck all for my pain and I didn't get high either.

Oh I forgot about when I had a third of my cornea shaved off and it was hanging as a flap and the hospital was like "not much we can do... have some morphine and go to the eye doctor when it opens.

So I spent a whole weekend where anytime I blinked or close my left eye it hurt like hell and I literally just sat in a chair not sleeping for well over 48 hours in absolute misery till Monday morning came and the optometrist out the flap back in place and popped in a contact bandaid thing and I have never felt so much instant relief in my life.

Why the fuck the hospital couldn't have done that is beyond me.

when I was a teen I ate some expired chalk candy and had the worst bathroom experience later that night. My intestines hurt so much that I nearly fell off the toilet and my vision went completely black for a few seconds. I legit thought I was gonna die and wanted to tell my mom that I loved her lol

When I was dehydrated af after a night of drinking and first thing I do when I woke up is to take a ****.
It got so bad that my legs were shaken and I had to push like crazy.

Waking up after gallbladder surgery, hell it hurt worse than the gallbladder attacks I had leading up to the surgery. I was in so much pain that the recovery nurse had to give me dilaudid 4 times and then 2 percocets for the pain.

That was the worst pain I've had, even hurt when I would sneeze for about 3 weeks after the surgery.

Either the one time I had a bad reaction to a flu shot that left me with an absolutely splitting head ache for three days. Like, I felt like somebody was splitting my head open with a rail spike and a hammer.

Or the time I had a tooth crack into three pieces and had to have it pulled. It might have been dulled by anesthetic but the dentist wrenched each piece out and it still hurt like hell.
