That's the whole game. Its not a very action-oriented game.

Still, fun game, if the heavy story-based games are for you, Hellblade is a good one if you can get into it.

I really liked it. But its definitely a game I think not everyone would like.

Spoilers if you want:

The voices are supposed to fuck with your mind. Its basically your characters self-doubts and trauma from her abusive upbringing.

I'm about 50% through now (based on a walkthrough video I found) and while things have gotten a bit more interesting (fighting bosses) I'm still shocked that most of this game is walking around trying to find shapes.

It certainly doesn't deserve the 90+ review scores it has, I can tell you that.

Yeah I felt the same way as you personally. Hopefully the sequel is better because I liked the visuals, world and story but the gameplay left a lot to be desired.

I made it through three quarters of that game before I realized there was a button to block. I had just been dodging the whole fucking time. I was furious.

I didn't realize you could dodge for the first couple fights.
Since then I haven't blocked at all.

Well it appears I'm in the second to last area, with two bosses left. I just hope the bosses aren't annoying.

I still need to retry it. Have it on steam but only played it for like 10 mins because the voices freaked me out.

I would have done more research before buying, but this saves me from looking at it.

I guess I give it a 6.5/10.

It was certainly a unique experience, I will give it that. And for how basic it is, I did like the combat sections overall. It also looked very good.

I just found most of the "gameplay" to be kind of boring, and as much as this game is hyped up for its story and presentation of mental illness, I don't think either of those things were really done that well.
